Does anyone remember fluorescent terry towelling socks; they also had to be worn as an odd pair.

What about the T-shirts that changed colour depending on your body temperature; can't remember the name of them though?
We called the socks 'Skinned Canaries'

Randomly we were chatting today about nostalgia and all the little niches of the 90s we remember.

Who remembers these? I'm had these and those multicoloured spoke beads on my bike spokes, lol.

Global Hypercolor?

I had the Maplin catalogue with the spaceship on the cover, I remember throwing a sickie from school when my copy arrived! Totally regret throwing it away maybe 10 years ago.

I wonder if you can still get them. A mate brings his £multi-thousand carbon fibre racing bike around sometimes. It would amuse me to put a few on his bike when he wasn't watching.

Didn't they become Somerfield, which was then taken over by Co-op?

I was reminded of this the other day and googled it...

Remember playing that many times in arcades especially on holidays when I was younger - but I never knew you could get it on Playstation! -heads for Amazon-

Morrisons took over Safeway at the tail end of 2004/early 2005.

Not forgetting 'Norman Superwarehouse' (HQ in Devon in the early 1990's - branches across the south).

What's todays' equivalent of Dolby NR as a badge of ubiquitous respectability on domestic hi-tec? Bose?

brand-independent standards etc such as that seem to be far less common nowadays

It went on to BBE, Barcus Berry Sound Enhancement. Was better than the Dolby version of compressing the mid and cutting the highs on tapes, always wound me up because it wouldnt go loud enough with it on
