Does anyone remember fluorescent terry towelling socks; they also had to be worn as an odd pair.
Yep - I had several pairs of these, although I never wore the odd.

I have looked since - and you can't get them anywhere - not even places selling retro/nostalgia stuff.

Odd since neon/fluorescent seems to have had a bit of a revival over the last couple of years - although to be fair it does seem to be confined mostly to female clothing lines and sportswear.

You coloured them in and put them in the oven to reduce them and make them go hard, so you could use them as badges or whatever.

These were all the rage at school, and the girl down the road was a member of the Stinky Sticker Club, so me and a mate did a deal with her to buy the rare ones, like 'Bones' off her at 25p a pop, and we sold them on at 50p a pop.
We made a fortune that half term at middle school, I remember when we got pulled into the headmasters office to explain why we were taking kids dinner money we had nearly £100 between us.
The headmaster put a stop to it, but he gave us a wry smile as he sent us on our way.

And it wasn't for some years late that I realised what this one actually smelt of, it was called 'grass' btw....

And this was the sticker that made me my fortune....

With the money I bought a pair of these....

Netto (merged into asda) - not so much old but i didn't realise they'd disappeared
Netto may be on the way back, they have done a deal with Sainsburys to take on Aldi/Lidl.

Really... i wouldn't be surprised at all if the troubled supermarkets (looking at you Tezzers) 'come up' with cheapo brand chains in an attempt to tackle the scourge of the Germans, and try to push their main brands up slightly.

No Commodores?

Remember these?
Gash - if it isn't TDK then it does get into my Technics tape deck. SA preferably, AD mainly, but I did once know a bloke who claimed to have a METAL TDK cassette.

My Mum had a Barclays account and one day she got these;

- which you bought in advance and could exchange in one of these early 'hole in the wall' machines;

Proper cutting edge techonolgy - and a massively weighty metal drawer into which you put your voucher. It'll never catch on.
