compared to New Zealand: cheaper cars (but people don't bin them when they get old here), cheaper food especially at supermarkets, proper marmite, online shopping and good crisp selections. Erm, that is honestly all i can think of

OK i have been moaning on another thread having just rocked up in the UK for 10 days after a 3 1/2 year absence and there are positive things so to list...

- Bacon Sarnies
- Good Real Ale
- Porkie Scratchings
- British Curry
- People are still generally polite (that one may surprise some)
- Generally good driving standards
- (as a tourist) everythig is dirt cheap due to exchange rate

May come back over the next few days and add to that.

A decent cup of tea.

Simply can't get one anywhere else.

That tatoo has got the perspective all wrong.

It looks more like a creature from Futurama.

The landscape,

The cars,
The beer,
London,
The cheapness of berry's
Rick Stein,
The Hairy Bikers
Jeeves/Wooster

I'd miss the architecture of London if I was away and the general sense of history. I see it every day and always think how amazing it is.

But I'd still rather be on the beach, so stop talking daft smile

Right, we've had enough threads on Winky, Chavs, Crime, Eyeliner on men.

I'm moving back to the UK in two weeks. I'm a bit sad to be leaving Italy obviously, as well as being made redundant, losing my flat and the life I've spent the last year and a half building up for myself and am moving back to my parents house with a few guitars and a big TV to my name.

I'm focussing on being happy to be going back home rather than being sad to leave here, so tell me why the UK is amazing!

I'll start:
Cheap cars
Variety of food choice
The countryside (OK not quite the Alps, but it's still beautiful)
A few of my really close friends
Cheap booze
The possibility of eventually having a house with a garage
Club racing
So no mortgage and no responsibilities to cater for then?

You Sir, have NO class.

Hey, I'm thinking positively - things that are impossible for our much vaunted 'leaders' to fk up.

Britain is still very civilised and the people are great.

We have long summer evenings, great beer, ancient history, fine grub and access to the countryside.

A bag of chips, smothered in salt and vinegar, eaten from the wrapper (little wooden fork optional) whilst walking along the prom in some seaside town.

A pint of cider in a pub beer garden on a summer's day.
