You're just jealous that this thread is now 100 times more interesting because I added pancakes. Haters gunna hate.
Im reserving judgement on my jealousy levels on that one.Being so old, until it is explained to me, I don't really understand why people are doing it so I dont even know if it is funny or not.
THe likely answer is that the first one is mildly amusing and each subsequent one less and less so, yet noone realises that it is no longer funny and keep doing it until I have to start a thread about pancakes or waffles.
I am not sure why that is my gut feeling, but I am usually right.
Based on that theory then, the 'It's Caturday, post some pictures of cats' thread won't last very long then....oh wait...

THey are different. THat is the whole point.Based on that theory then, the 'It's Caturday, post some pictures of cats' thread won't last very long then....oh wait...
THe word 'facepalm' and its use does not change one iota in every one of the comments.
You are being ridiculous and you know it.
Do you honestly laugh when you see a picture of a facepalm? Still? Honestly?
Of course you don't because it takes more than mere repetition to stimulate the human brain into amusement. It is absolute fact that a funny thing becamoes slightly less funny every time you see it.

I have never in my life encountered such pride over an internet conversation.Well done or something. Have a prize of some kind.
Ummmmmmm, could I have a framed picture of you doing a facepalm? It would make my year and everytime I looked at it I would chuckle so.....

1) Post the word facepalm, or if I'm feeling very witty facepalm.jpg
2) I can actually describe, in great detail with wondrous amount of expletives just how much of a blithering idiot I think you are. This may be a paragraph since you will provide so much inspiration.
Now tell me, which would you prefer?

The odd well-timed 'facepalm' post can be quite amusing though.
You need to be more subtle in your attempt to change the way 'facepalm' is used. By announcing your hatred of it, people will find it amusing to post in in all your threads. Instead try the well tested route of using pre-emptive methods, such as:
'Your relevant post'
:insert usual apparently witty PH comment here:
Intelligent people will not rise to the bait, as it's seen as an easy option and the idiots will soon realised their comments are being ignored.

FACEPALM is not meant to be funny, it merely conveys a reaction to a situation in brief form, as would ---> or --->
Hope that clears it up, BSR.....

Ok, you now have a choice. Every time I see you post something so utterly useless and devoid of reason or intelligence I can either:
1) Post the word facepalm, or if I'm feeling very witty facepalm.jpg
2) I can actually describe, in great detail with wondrous amount of expletives just how much of a blithering idiot I think you are. This may be a paragraph since you will provide so much inspiration.

The latter please.1) Post the word facepalm, or if I'm feeling very witty facepalm.jpg

THis will no doubt give me plenty of ammo with which to shoot you down.
THe former merely does that for me.

I can see what you're saying, but the picture ARE supposed to be funny, albeit in a Terry and June way. I don't mind the Picard smiley but the pics are annoying simply for the size and the mouse scrolling you have to do to get past them.FACEPALM is not meant to be funny, it merely conveys a reaction to a situation in brief form, as would ---> or --->

FWIW I very much like your last two.

SOmething that I have noticed, though, is that these threads of mine follow a very predictable pattern which goes as follows:
1) Tedious meme gets overused
2)BSR does one of these threads
3)All the people who use it suddenly cringe and think to themselves 'actually it is a bit tttish posting the same unfunny thing over and over and over again
4)They try to cover up this embarrassment by defiantly and utterly hilariously posting on the thread in question, the thing that isn't funny
5) The thread dies away, but most importantly, it makes the sheep actually think before they post it again.
You would be forgiven for assuming that #5 is incorrect, but you would be mistaken.
It actually works a treat in my unscientific, self centred, egocentrical opinion.

I actually agree with that on the whole although not entirely correct about this thread being the wrong way to go about it.

There is logic deep in that statement somewhere and I can't counter-argue against someone with 10'000 posts of PH experience.SOmething that I have noticed, though, is that these threads of mine follow a very predictable pattern which goes as follows:

I will say this though:
Blindswelledrat, may the Lord have mercy on my soul, for I will not be responsible for my actions if, due to your thread, I never see the 'Picard Facepalm' again! It's the only one that still makes me smile and would probably be the end of 'facepalm' as we know it.
Don't see the problem. The facepalm pics make sense in the context:
1) OP posts something idiotic.
2) PH#1 posts facepalm pic.
3) PH#2 who also thinks it's idiotic posts facepalm pic.
How is this different to someone posting their newly purchased Gallardo and someone posting "Nice." and another posting "Lovely car, enjoy."? It's just an expression of what they want to say and is a bit politer than replying with "Moron." or "Idiot."

SO in general do you veer towards hieroglyphics to communicate, or do you use simple pictures of cats and dogs like a nursery school child?
Do you think that schools should not bother teaching writing, but instead show the children more and more pictures until they have momorised a picture ofr every word?
Most ridiculous argument I have ever heard in my whole life.
