Have you ever fired a gun?

Was in Ukraine a couple of weeks ago and spent a very interesting morning with a couple of their army firearms trainers. Fired about 10 different guns, various pistols, ak47, m16 etc but my favourite was the SVD Druganov.
7.62 rounds and a kick like a mule. Awesome.
Was in Prague in May on a stag do and this was the last gun we fired on a shooting range trip, one hell of a kick and sent a deafening bang around the Czech countryside 7.62 rounds and a kick like a mule. Awesome.
Quite surprised how powerful the AK47 was, M16 was the best machine gun we used that day

Machine Gun America - www.machinegunamerica.com - Kissimmee - this, I believe, is the only indoor facility that gives punters access to automatic weapons. I haven't been, but it gets good press.
There are at least 3 in vegas so i guess nothing unusual in allowing automatics .Edited by Matt Harper on Saturday 1st October 19:35
The regulations that govern public access to automatic weapons are extremely demanding and rigorously enforced in FL. You can ride around in the desert shooting 50 cal auto at radio controlled vehicles in NV if you have the money.

Yeah I have, clay pigeon shooting so a shotgun. We had a "team building" day at some local outdoor pursuits type place, the options were archery or clay pigeon followed by go-karting. Obviously I chose the shooting. It's the only time I've done it so felt a bit nervous about the whole thing though I got more confident as it went on.
Wouldn't mind trying some other guns though, one for the bucket list to go to one of those places where you can try a variety of semi-automatic weaponry

You are correct - it is a friendly place (staff-wise) - and close enough to where I live to have been very convenient - and I've bought several guns from them.
But (and it's a big but), range training and discipline is a bit lax there in recent years. Customers with zero experience are just handed guns and ammunition and pretty much left to figure it out for themselves. Not good.
It was a few years ago I went; they did ask if I'd shot before, which I have, and they were quite ready to do as above - I did just check which controls were where with them myself though and they were happy to run through the gun with me, but I can see how your comment could easily happen...But (and it's a big but), range training and discipline is a bit lax there in recent years. I have a Mosin Nagant M38 carbine, it uses the same 7.62*54r ammunition as the Dragunov, but because it has a barrel that is too short (the powder hasn't finished burning before the bullet leaves the barrel) you get ground shaking noise and an awesome fireball as well!! Oh and being a WWII service rifle the shoulder padding is a steel plate, you certainly know that you have been shooting it!MKnight702 said:

Never done a Vegas trip or anything outside the UK but still managed to have shared use of a Barrett .50 on UK FAC and occasional testing/researching with historic pistols at Bisley. Also volunteer to assist on a few military charity range days so get use of their green plastic guns, HK's, Glocks, Sigs etc.

It's amazing what you can enjoy shooting without leaving the UK including AK's, AR15's etc, bottom pic is a typical range day at Bisley.
My M38 also also does the flamethrower thing, kicks a bit too.
Aldershot range H4H charity shoot.
Club guest day at Bisley, several PHers in attendance with historic old wooden WW2 guns to modern bolt actions and straight pull's.

Used to shoot practical pistol, before hand gun ban, for about 2 years I was shooting about 800-1000 rounds per week, through various caliber pistols.
45 acp
38 super
9mm
.357 Mag
etc etc

That's a lot of, I presume, time consuming hand loading to fuel that habit
