Quick question.

Been smoking Mayfair smooth for as long as I've been smoking, a few days ago bought a packet of Rothman's though. Not sure why, but hey smile

Anyway, gave a (non-smoking and usually disapproving) friend a lift yesterday, first thing she asked when she got in the car was whether I'd been smoking different cigarettes and that it smelt much nicer. I was pretty shocked to say the least, but does anyone else think it really makes that much difference to smell?? confused

I used to smoke Marlboro Reds, and a friend of mine smokes Embassy Number 1. To me, his cigarettes always smell like weed.

Just think, if you hadn't numbed all of your taste receptors by smoking you'll have been able to tell the difference between the two brands.

This.

Did you never wonder why they were pretty much the cheapest cigarettes that money could buy?
Marlboro Gold, Camel Blue and Lucky Strike Silver are about the only things I can bring myself to smoke. Everything else seems to taste like the barrel-scrapings from a decent tobacco company.

There's definitely the odd Marlboro "Gold" that has that pungent aroma!

Did the lift coincide with your monthly bath?

I'm usually an Amber Leaf man myself, but when I have "company" I'll buy 20 Mayfair to cut out the faffing about and it's what she smokes too, so we're interchangeable. Mayfair aren't that bad and I figure if you're going to poison yourself, you might as well do it cheaply.

Otherwise, like if I'm appearing as a special guest at a certain PH meet in Shoreditch, I'll treat myself to Marlboro Reds (or Black, which are nice) or Lucky Strike or even Camel.

I'm dead suffistikated me.

I always used to find my friend who smoked Malboro Lights had a really strong cigarette smell on her afterwards, where as Silk Cuts were fairly inoffensive.

That's because they're like smoking fresh air.

I bought a packet of sterling at the weekend as the shop had no b&h silver or marlboro.

Put it this way its the longest I've ever owned a packet of fags when I haven't had a cold. They taste like the inside of a wheelie bin!

Because they don't actually have any tobacco in them
