When JP was doing the deal to get DTM to Brands, he was also trying to finalise the deal with WTCC. It was starting to go tits up with WTCC so he offered them the GP circuit, they put in a clause about "any other international tin-tops" using the same layout. DTM then had to make do with the Indy circuit. It is totally the wrong way around, the WTCC cars don't have enough power to make use of the GP circuit and the DTMs are strangled by the Indy layout.
