Apologies if it's out of order posting links to your own ebay items but this is quite an interesting one.

Bizarre. Might be worth a punt for a locksmith, though!

maybe it has small pox in it? we have a safe at work full of the equipment from an operating theatre that was used on a mad cow patient.

A good point. Does depend on the location. It could have been a public building and there are old files relating to private information within. Thus passing on the data would breach the data protection act and mean the seller ends up with a hefty fine?

I was given it by someone who I am no longer in contact with. He had had it a couple of years in the same locked condition. He never told me where it came from.

May I ask why, or is it a silly question?

How do we know he has not looked inside and put a brick in there in order to generate interest?

Fair enough. It might be worthwhile giving the ICO a call just to clarify your legal position.

(Feel free to call me a cock for being over-cautious. hehe )

i have no idea why they kept it, i have a key to it and i know where it is but i have no desire to open it. It may be that the objects are too large to dispose of safely.

I've also got oxy acetylene, but decided it would be fun to auction it!
