There are some things in life you want to know the answer to but never got round to asking anyone.

So you experts on here, tweo questions from me...

On some lorry's they have a blue sign that says "TIR" what does it mean.?

In tennis, where does the scoring system come from... 15 - love etc?

Little things I know but would like to know the proper reasons or answers.

Anything like thisd you would like to know?

Love comes from l'ouef meaning egg as the zero on the scoreboard looked like an egg.

In brochures for Bicycles and even on come people's own pictures taken at home, the bicycle appears to be stood there, all of its own accord. How do they make them stand up with no visible stand?

I'm afraid so.

PH is dead handy for this sort of thing.

I discovered how they get the skins off mandarins in tinned mandarins on here, always wondered how that was done.

1) They hibernate, attics are always full of flies on warm early spring days as the little buggers are waking up.

2) The wife isn't always right, infact she's normally wrong, but you've learnt over the years that arguing with the wife is totally futile.

Why can I not go to the pub for a few pints anymore without feeling like I've been hit by a truck the day after?

Perhaps glass or clear perspex stands?

How do TV companies work out how many millions of people were watching a certain program? Is it guess-work?

Wiki says: disputed... although their other explanations sound even less plausible.

There is a focus group of 1000 or so and a box which provides the data and they just multiply up.

There are about 1500 people with set top boxes that relay what they are watching and they also look at spikes in electricity usage as people put the kettle on or turn lights on to go to the loo after a programme ends.
