The drive down to Goodwood involves going through Cocking.
The great thing about Cocking is driving through there is like driving through any similar Sussex village... except one where all the signposts have been put up by someone with Tourette's. I wonder how many crashes they have where people see the sign for "Cocking church" and drive off the road doubled up with immature laughter?

You've got to wonder why people buy a place in a place called t**t, or Hardon Road etc..

I mean surely the point when the estate agent gives you the full address you decide that house is not for you............

I live in Locksbottom, which is just down the road from Pratts Bottom and Badgers Mount....
Was just scanning through the posts to see if anyone had mentioned Pratts Bottom... I nearly bought a house there last year and the missus said she'd say we lived in Orpington if asked.

I said Pratts Bottom was less embarrassing!

I've always thought Loose Chippings was an odd name for a village.

Seen quite a few on my travels, though.
And then there's the quaint little village of Mud On Road.

There will be several in various places. There's certainly more than one Corfe Close and the one I know does indeed have a number 4.
