There's a place called "Dummer" near Basingstoke. Or, as my ex and I used to pronounce it "urrrgghghgh" (with the tongue placed between the lower lip and bottom teeth).

There's also a sewage works at "Pant-y Dwn" in Wales. Discovered that on an Ordnance Survey map in Geography at the age of around 11 and laughed for about a week.

Finally there is a place called "Snodland" which I was never allowed to laugh at as I apparently have relatives buried there.

The one that MBH posted is in Doncaster. Not that I've got a picture of myself next to it, oh no.

ISTR that the residents of Butt Hole Road, Doncaster, managed to get some kind of bye-law or something drawn up to ban people parking their cars up and having their picture taken next to the sign.

The one that MBH posted is near Steetley quarry in Doncaster. Not that I've got a picture of myself next to it, oh no.

Because it appears someone took the least used tiles of a Scrabble board, put the in their mouth, and then sneezed at a wall to get the name.

Maybe it's just my sence of humour.

Have we had Wetwang yet? Used to be on BBC Look North's weather forecast map whenever Paul Hudson was on, because he's the honourary mayor (succeeding Richard Whiteley)

That is about half a mile from my house. Someone nicked the sign about 3 months ago and it has not been replaced....yet
