I've always thought Loose Chippings was an odd name for a village.

Seen quite a few on my travels, though.

There's an area of Cardiff called Splott, which must be the most un-salubrious sounding area to live.

There's a village in Wales called Pant.

Whenever me and the wife drive past the sign, we both make panting sounds and chuckle to ourselves. We are so funny, it hurts.
I take your 'Pant' and raise you a 'Pantsod'

There's a village near here called "Nether Wallop", which sounds painful.

A few miles up the road from Dartford's little brother, the Heavy Plant Crossing if I recall correctly.

Lolworth.

Would I be right in saying that in Dorset, or possibly Devon, there is a place called Upper Ramsbottom?

We have an estate here called "Wecock Farm", which includes a rather ichy sounding road called "thrush walk" and a "longwood avenue"

I live in Locksbottom, which is just down the road from Pratts Bottom and Badgers Mount....

Personally, and obviously rather childishly, I find Shorpe pretty amusing
