Like some kind of cretin I have booked my holiday for hte opening 2 weeks of the football season.
Do you get premiership football on terrestrial French TV or not?
How do you watch football?
What the hell am I going to do?

You need to find a bar showing Sky Sports. Nothing on French TV.

I was about to pour scorn upon this comment, but I have just looked and the house has a " Sky Digibox " whatever that means.
Im guessing it doesn't have sky sports, but do you think it will pick up terrestrial UK channels?

No. There is a football magazine catch-up programme on Sunday mornings at 11am on TF1 called telefoot - you may see a few snatches of prem goals there but it is mostly Ligue 1. BBC World Service sometimes carries the Radio 5 coverage.

Very likely. It may even have sports. You should ask the owner.

At minimum it should get terrestrial channels. But if the owner or site doesn't know/want to distinguish between all the range of Sky boxes, you may end up with the Sports package.

If you have sky out in France, you're most likely going to use multiroom to do it with, so it'll mirror the UK setup. If the owner has sports, you'll get it out there. Not that Sky allow this, of course.

So you are going on holiday, and the most important thing you can think of is being able to watch football?

Each to his own... your priority should probably be to identify the location of all local hospital casualty departments! smile

4 easy steps

1) ask friend to record all matches that you are missing
2) go to france
3) enjoy local scenery, sights, food, culture
4) leave the tv off for duration of holiday. it is a holiday after all, and it is only television...

Internet access? Radio 5 and it's sister station may cover the games, too.

I have a funny feeling that all the people whining about me wanting to watch football on holiday are exactly the sort of people who sit there on thier iphones posting on Facebook, boasting about what a good holiday they are having sitting in the sun posting on facebook.

ANyway. it's a fair point but the bottom line is that with 3 young children, once they are in bed you are trapped. Watching match of the day for an hour a week is hardly going to ruin anything

Oh, you've only gone and done it.
He has posted that on every thread I have ever posted on, for the past year, in the hope that one day, just someone would acknowledge him.
Up until now everyone in the world has thought "why does he always do that. Its not funny or clever. Wasn't yesterday. Wasn't the day before ad infinitum.

Anyway- to cut a long story short, this means that you have exactly the saem sense of humour as MBH. You are equally funny.
