I just dropped a plug into water (trying to fill the iron up!). I've taken the fuse out and tried to dry where I can reach, but water had gone inside.
How long before I can plug it in again?!

This should be in the "tell us something really trivial" thread. smile

If it's dry use it, if it's wet don't.

Simple.

nono be extremely careful!!! I would be tempted to give the plug a good blast with a hair dryer first.

swap the plug from another appliance leave that one to dry fit it to other appliance tomorrow... 5 minutes if that... job done. Then do what I do and have a drink rather than bother with the ironing biggrin

It's one of these new fangled plugs you can't take off, hence why I can't get to it all to try and dry it properly. Might try the hair dryer though smile

This thread had so much potential when I saw the title, it went swiftly downhill as each word was read.

Whack an insulation resistance tester on it, should give you a fair idea of how safe it is.

Might also be worth looking at whether its double insulated. If it is, then you should be fairly safe, but plug it in via an RCD plug top.

And another, and another.
Good news is that if you let it pile up enough then the ste at the bottom gets pressed.
