Would you have security escort a puppy off the premises?
Edit: This is one of the best things about working here. Tremendous loyalty from everyone to everyone else. But it leads to this sort of absurdity.
If that puppy wasn't contributing to the work environment...or actually being detrimental to the other staff, then yes I would.Edit: This is one of the best things about working here. Tremendous loyalty from everyone to everyone else. But it leads to this sort of absurdity.

If that puppy did the above and showed potential mental issues, I would escort the puppy off the premises and probably drive them myself to someone who might be able to help them sort out what is going on in their head*. I think that would probably be the nicest thing?

This probably sounds racist, but the mental issues are mostly due to being chinese and over parented... we think...
Edit: Just looked more closely. Yes he's being detrimental. Was seriously annoying me today... bobbing around like a five year old... But I can tolerate it

Ok - so we've established there are potential mental issues. Make an appointment with someone who can help him. Put him in the company pool car and drive him to that appointment. That's what you would do to be nice.
It may even be someone who speaks Chinese (make sure you get the right dialect!!)?
Cheers

None of them do this, especially the ones that have been overseas for any length of time (bit like yanks) they need a change of scene to normalise them).
To suggest that all chinese have mental issues is, well, racist I'm afraid.

Has no one sat him down and told him that he doesn't work there anymore? :/ very odd
It sounds like he is using their systems to do his personal trading (I assume he is FSA registered given that he traded for them, if not all that well, so he's not a complete moron) so that's not too silly either, as long as he has access to their Bloomberg/Reuters etc.I also assume that he has few/no friends or family here so he has nothing else to do.

I wouldn't say he's got mental issues so much as perhaps cultural: couple the Chinese hobby of gambling with the need for a family (your company/team is his family in the UK) and you have someone who is trying to trade profitably not just for money but for acceptance into the family. He probably ought to just go home to mumsy rather than seek the help of a counsellor.
