Anyone tried the Razorock shaving cream yet? Allegedly taking the US by storm and out of stock at Shaving Shack, any views appreciated as I'm contemplating a shopping trip, going to order Salters Vetiver and one other, reasonably priced, cream.

I've just trialled a few of those soft, almond scented Italian soaps: Cella, Vitos Green and Vitos Red. The winner for me was the Vitos Red - worked really, really well. So I'm currently waiting on a 1kg block of it to arrive from the the UK - it's stupidly good value when you buy it like that.

It's about £30 a bottle so cheap as chips unless you want to smell like a complete chav!
Try Creed! Now that's expensive. I meant the shaving cream, which is about £9 a tube. I don't bother with aftershave or cologne very much.

TBH I use Eucris shower gel and even though it's £20 a tube, they last me about three months so the difference per day is negligble, plus I'm worth it! I'd happliy pay £9 a tube for shaving cream, you only live once, why not use a smell you really like rather than one you don't mind, I can't imagine I'll get to my death bed wishing I'd spent less on shaving products!

After reading a lot on this thread i have taken the plunge. I have suffered with major in growing hairs and shaving rash for years and as i need to be clean shaven not shaving daily isnt an option. All i can say is thank you all the advice and recommendations were spot on. I have a cheap metal feathers razor i know not the best but im saving for a Futur. I have tried the derby blades well one after that i tried a feathers blade and wow the difference is huge the feathers arre awesome and i get three four shaves from one. I am using a cyril salter shaving cream in almond and can thoroughly recommend although i do fine it a bit thin. I have also tried the geo f trumpers sample pack and there shaving creams seem awesome a little thicker than the cyril salter stuff so i can feel a purchase coming on. The coconut oil one smells amazing by the way. Now the only thing im looking for now is a nice aftershave lotion/balm. In the trumper pack were two skin food samples that felt amazing to use. However before i take the plunge about £30 for a bottle. I thoughti would ask on here about any recommendations. Something nice cool and soothing. The trumpers lime skin food is my fave so far. so interested to see what you guys use.
Cheers the converted..!!!

Just shaved with the shavette for the first time and ouch got a long horizontal cut along my right cheek and had a lot of trouble with shaving my chin area, so I gave up and used the DE razor instead. The original Proraso shaving cream is quite nice though.

Get in early, only 9 left in stock: click Yesterday they (Amazon) were showing they had the Futur razor on its own. 4.0 out of 5 stars Merkut Futur, 28 Oct 2011 By Deebeetee - See all my reviewsThis review is from: Merkur of Solingen Futur Safety Razor (Personal Care) This is an excellent razor. The German build quality is evident, and it is heavy for it's size. I bought this razor as I liked the look of it, and it does look brilliant. However,I think the head is probably a bit too chunky, and I find it quite awkward to shape my goatee. If I had no facial hair to shape the Futur would have undoubtedly received a 5 star rating. Cheers the converted..!!! I bought a big bottle of lime skin food a few weeks ago and have used it every day. The bottle still looks virtually full, as you need very little of it. Makes it good value really. /manmaths.

Alum block every shave. Rinse face with cold water, wet and rub alum block all over. Allow face to pretty much drip dry while cleaning up brush, razor, area. Rinse again and apply balm. Works for me. ETA: Link to geofatboy vid: youtube.

I don't have a goatie, so not faced with your facial shaving route. The Feather was/is the best handling - but is too mild for me.

/manmaths. That's the one I want had a sample of that one and the coral one. I didn't find the coral one very nice smelling at all. The lime one was really good and agree it does last a while I got a couple of weeks nearly out of the sample.
