Tallied up everyone except the girlfriend: £101
Including the girlfriend (hopefully purchased today): £400

Christmas would be so cheap otherwise weeping

Actually if you count all the christmas related nights out i've had over the last month it doesn't seem so cheap!

Oh my if... you have the time to read the whole thing you will be seeing red by the end of it... she should be sterilised. Some of here comments are just outrageous.

We're going to the parents for dinner etc so that saves a chunk.
I'd hazard a guess at about £400 or so.

I've not spent as much as I'd like. Just can't afford to spend what I'd like, but everyone is getting a present.

We have a small Christmas this year with just direct family. We also really don't spend much on presents at all any more (mainly because we're now all quite old!), my sister and I are also just starting off with buying houses so dont have the money. I will have spent under £100 this year.

About a grand I suppose - not worked it out to be honest.

What astounds me is the MIL of my GF's Brother. She takes out a loan to pay for Christmas and then spends the rest of the next year paying it off only to take out another for next Christmas. Work that out if you can.

A girl I work with was bragging about how she's spent £1200 this year. She doesn't earn more than £18k pa so how she manages I don't know.

I've spent £150. As a single 19 year old student that's a fair chunk.

the only good thing about Christmas, is the fact that you can load up with all the stuff from Amazon that
you actually want. Given the time of year, the packages and credit card bills will not be under scutiny, because
they can be passed off as pressies for other people smile

I managed it, just and am still alive although have steam coming out of my ears. Just who the fk does she think she is? Anything else I say will already have gone through everyone else's mind so I won't.

It's ok, you can admit it. You rather fancy her, right? Well, you would... you know...anyway.

I have to confess I expected to think the same. However..... she does have a point when she says she can spend her money how she chooses.

It's a system that pays someone so much to sit on their arse that she would have to earn £30,000 a year to make it worth working that boils my piss furious
