Drove all the way to a manky place called Erith just off the m25 to have a wheel alignment done by a place recommended in the Kent forum.

... 60 mile round trip to find them closed. Should have rang!

Not put off drove to another recommendation... closed. Should have called.

Elite are open. Been waiting for 2hrs. Lucky they have the in house cafe and phone reception.

I have trained up a relief officer today.

We have had no visitors, phone calls or done anything other than drank tea.

There is no scheduled cover due before the end of march and in which time the guy will have forgotten everything he hasn't learnt today.

Went to the hospital for an appointment only to find out it wasn't actually for me.

The annoying thing was that I had already questioned said appointment when it came through as I wasn't expecting one for the hopsital in question or for that department, but I was assured yes it is for you as requested by your consultant (at a different hospital). It soon became apparent this morning however that my details have been put on a letter destined for someone else, so some poor soul is probably sat waiting for an appointment that I was given.

Should this tread not be amalgamated with This Thread

Prised son off the sofa and away from Facebook on his laptop to get his car going. Ended up costing ME £58 for a new battery.

Tried to break the OH's boat out of the bloody ice, and gave up just past Bull's Bridge (AGAIN!) I'm sick of the sight of the bloody stuff now; just HOW long does it take to melt?!! stty, horrible weather!

Gone to work, it's going to be very quiet here today!
Why? What do you do?
Work at one of the larger O&G companies, not the one that you would find items of at the beach but the 'other' one.

Looking forward to a short day hopefully though.
Looks like I'm in the crowd of people having a quite day too. I'm in the obvious Norwegian O&G company, it's also dead here - in a building of several thousand I have seen around 10 people so far.
I'm in a very non-obvious Angolan O+G company and my entire week has been utterly pointless, still not sure why I flew back here on the 27th when the whole company is basically closed until Jan 4th!!

Going out to work in the cab and earning about the minimum wage (net). I was back indoors after three hours.

I hate this time of year, London is full to over-flowing with cheap-skate tourists......frown

The snow has gone, and the towpath looks like Glastonbury, but the canal is still badly iced up. It's so thick, it's taking forever to melt.
