In Dilbert the TTP in "the TTP project" stands for "the TTP project"

It makes my head spin

In real life PHP stands for 'PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor', GNU stands for 'GNU's Not Unix' and WINE stands for 'WINE Is Not an Emulator' (although the last one might be more of a backronym or geek myth).

A man walks into a pub an asks for a pint of Adenosine triphosphate. The barman says “that’s 80p!”

It can't just be me wondering why barmen both know so much chemistry and physics, and apparently have a ready supply of the various things people ask them for. I'm beginning to think that we do invent time travel in the future, and people do come back. As barmen, prepared in the future, to answer the random question that Mr I P Freely will ask at 18:52 on a specific day.

Not at all tenuous. Windows has been offering to upgrade users to Windows 10 for a while now. Upgrade from, say, Windows 8. It is currently in the news for changing tack and actually going ahead and doing it without permission. And Outlook is a Microsoft product.

In the cartoon his magic 8 ball has updated itself to a magic 10 ball without permission. And the outlook's not so good.

I thought it was very clever.

Not just offering, automatically updating in some cases (unless you disable the notification).

Indeed. I was in the middle of editing when you quoted me. Hence the rather messed up formatting.

Edit: Which you've just revised. thumbup
