Its a filthy habit and makes your clothes smell. I only have about one a week, but I go to Cuba every years to stock up. There are still some wonderfully uncivilized places that allow smoking, and one of the most surreal was in Beijing in the China World Hotel..here is a pic:

OK, so I have been doing some digging and thanks to a PHer recommendation this place looks like a good bet.

It seems like they are happy to close a section of the terrace for groups of up to 10 people (as long as we all spend £50 each).

Or, for a bigger event we could hire it in its entirety for £1000 and split the bill.

Any thoughts?
Definitely interested, look forward to some suggested dates.

I'm quite partial to the odd cigar from time to time, not something I have regularly but I enjoy them nonetheless. I think out of all the ones I've had I like Cohibas and Villier best, also got given some superb ones from the Dominican Republic a while back but I can't remember the brand - just that they were without a doubt the best ones I'd smoked.

Generally though I don't go in for the really massive ones - find cigarillos to be the best format for my liking. Very partial to the vanilla-scented type such as Mehari Sweet Orient (they've changed the recipe recently though; not as fragrant as they used to be) although I expect they're probably anathema to a purist.

Place sounds interesting and its close enough to the tube. Food looks reasonable as well. Can we pick a day when Hunters & Frankau are doing their talk?

AM free after the 10th of April smile

Oh no hide!, Its the Zino Davidoff Cigar Etiquette Enforcer! biggrin

Cigar Trends said:
As you can see, there are a lot more Don'ts than Dos! However, most of Davidoff's directives are things most people already do naturally, and you will soon get used to the others as you build up more smoking experience. Practice at home, where you can relax and learn to enjoy every aspect of the ritual of cigar smoking, and only then, when you are confident, should you have a go at smoking in public. It’s not a difficult thing to do, but there are a number of things to think about the first time you do it. Keep practicing however, and they'll soon become second nature.

Right, we can have any Thursday evening we like in March. £50 minimum spend per person which can include drinks, food and cigar purchases.

Good news, an area for 10 can be reserved and the area will be sectioned off for us to give some privacy.

I'll need names of interested parties below, along with your preferred date too. To save me being out of pocket (I'll be liable for the £500 spend) I'll ask for a £25 deposit which I'll return to you in cash on the night.
