Cigar Event 16/04/14
Discussion
Having recently been to florida and remembering about a rather good cigar shop with a massive walk in humidor that houses there stock I desided to buy a few.
I got a rather nice honey cigar, had a sweet honeyish tone to the smoke and was very enjoyable.
I also got a rather large (for me anyway) 8 inch macanudo cuban made thingy.
its in a glass tube with a cork stopper in the top, and the wrapper on the cigar says vintage 2000....it was not cheap.
will it be any good as its 12 years old and will it last for years to come if I dont open the thing?

Going to be returning from a trip to the Bahamas shortly. I've picked up 20 Cohiba Esplendidos (to go with my few Romeo Y Julietas' I have from the last few years. I'd like to store them properly, can anyone recommend a humidor for around £50? There seem to be a few on the net, but I've no idea which are crap!
Bit of a strange request here, in two parts.
I've organised a little trip to Wales with some mates for New Years, and I've also been put in charge of arranging the obligatory New Years cigars.
There are five chaps going (I feel the girls will decline them...), and I was wondering if any of you could suggest any decent but cheapish cigars? We are by no means connoisseurs that's for sure, but something palatable will be nice.
Of course, being rubbish, I've forgotten to organise this. We're leaving on the 29th so there's not much time to mail-order, and sod going into London tomorrow or Thursday...!
So, the second part of my question, do any CigarHeads have five of anything in their humidor they'd be willing to let go for some money, and post off tomorrow/Thursday? A box split or something would be great.
(A disorganised) Ben.

First off - holy thread resurrection ;-)
Secondly, I felt we haven't had a cigar thread (that I've spotted) in a while...
What's everyone been smoking over the summer? Any recommendations? Ones to avoid?
I've just finished a Cohiba Esplendido in the pub garden this evening & just ordered a few more for the humidor from Cgars... I've just got some more La Rica Gorditos and some Hoya del Monterey Epicure Especials to look forward to (and a few other random ones to try)
I'll post back when I've tried them ;-)

Currently have some Upmann Half Coronas and RyJ No3s which I am enjoying, the Upmann is short enough for an afternoon smoke if things are slack at work, and the RyJ is usually after dinner of an evening.
Recommendations for mildish not too large (or expensive) cigars is always welcome.
I usually buy at Schipol on my way to Angola.

Schipol too has a walk in humidor and a fairly good selection, what pisses me off though is the lady who always follows me in and stands around while I am trying to make up my mind what to buy. I appreciate that they probably do get some light fingered people in there but it is off-putting.
Fortunately my wife doesn't mind me enjoying the odd cigar (outside in the garden) and when at work, standing on the hotel balcony, looking over palm trees out into the Atlantic it is very pleasant to light up a nice cigar, I can almost forget what a stty place Luanda actually is

Hoya del Monterey Epicure Especials
Good call on the Epicures. Still got six left from a cabinet of ten bought earlier this summer. Off to LA/Vegas in a few weeks and will probably take a few of them with me, minus their bands of course.Usually pick up some Davidoff Signature Series Robustos at Heathrow and Winston Churchill No.10's at LAX on the way back.
Anybody know a good place to buy cigars in LA/Vegas without paying through the nose?
