Out of interest, MadMullah, did you ever find anywhere in or around Manchester where you can enjoy a smoke that isn't a shisha bar?
I havent disillusioned. The nearest I got was somewhere near Huddersfield i think there's a hotel there that has a cigar terrace.

I believe the Midland hotel used to have a cigar shop inside but has since closed down.

London does seem to be the place for a terrace, in that sense Manchester really has really dropped the ball.

That's a real shame, I'll have a word with a few tobacconists and see if I can find anything up this way, if not, it's a niche opportunity for someone which is sorely missed.

I'd be willing to travel a reasonable distance to enjoy a smoke somewhere other than home or holiday, although last Christmas some friends and I rented a cottage in Snowdonia, I took my bottle of port and my R&J and set up a deck chair in the snow, looking out over the mountains a river and a lake... That was very pleasant (and yes said friends looked at me as though I was thoroughly off my rocker).
Oh its definately an opportunity in manchester - it would go down a storm in the right place. I'd love to do something along these lines if only the start up costs werent so high!!

I would've thought that there would be at least ONE place that catered for this in the UK's 2nd city. I travelled all the way to ten manchester st in London to enjoy their selection! Before I got made redundant I was planning a trip to Boisdale.

I went to Pakistan recently and was looking forward to smoking a cigar or two on my terrace overlooking a lake - got there and the cigar shop had burnt down a few months earlier frown

I'm travelling around europe end of the month

From Calais to milan via Zurich

Where would be the best place to buy some Cigars from? Ideally i'd want to buy them on the way to Zurich or in Zurich itself - before we hit the alps to milan.

I went to the Prince of Wales pub in Moseley in birmingham

really nice set up there.

the pub's got a great selection of liquor as well as the cigars - its got two sofa's to sit inside and smoke - built in a out-building.

got myself two romeo y julietta's. lovely smoke.

as i was leaving i saw the sign for Winston Churchill's grave.
