Yeah, after a seriously weak start the 12min shorts are definitely getting better. I've had some actual lols which is a lot more than the first ones.

As soon as someone has to 'explain the joke' it is by default, no longer funny.

If this were true, humour would be instantly dumbed down to the lowest common denominator....

The Vicar of Dibley, maybe?

If you had to explain it to a comedian of some repute, then maybe it isn't funny.

Well, I got 5 mins into the 11 mins of the latest "long" entitled "The Depressing Episode" and turned it off. How is that in any way supposed to be funny? It's not even ironically funny. The most depressing thing about it was the total lack of humour.

Presumably there is a payoff in the last few moments but quite frankly I'd already wasted 5 mins of my life watching it, so I wasn't about to invest another 6 seeing it through. Far better to use that 6 mins more productively moaning about it on a public internet forum.

Oh... wait.

Maybe on the next one they could call it the "'We don't give a st; this'll be crap' Episode" and then it'll be ok to show 11 mins of a blank screen?

Depressing can be funny. Gallows humour / black humour / etc. The 5 mins that I watched before giving up was just crap.

(As I said, maybe there was a payoff later)

It's weird that their comics are rarely not funny and their shorts are rarely funny. I think they're trying too hard. They should make their videos < 1 minute. Even Vine length would suit them better.

Don't find that remotely funny. I know it is meant to be dark...yeah yeah....but I have seen people go through that, and sometimes it is the only thing that feel is open to them to remember the person by. I know the line is a fricking long way in the distance for C&H but even they have crossed that one with this.

I think you don't find it funny because you have an attachment to the situation they are making a joke about, there's probably plenty of other jokes that you find amusing that other people don't, doesn't mean the line has been crossed.
Personally in terms of jokes I think that's quite a mild one in comparison to their usual ones.

A fair point....I do agree, there are others that if I had an attachment I can see why they would touch a nerve also. I will get back in box
