Electric toothbrush - any dentists recommendations?
Discussion
Boots have a sale, the 6511 is a touch over £40 right now:

My dentist tells me to brush light - very light - otherwise it will start affecting your gums.
Are electric tootbrushs not too aggresive?
As mentioned they just rotate, the pressure is as hard as you hold it, and most modern brushes warn if you are pressing too hard. Are electric tootbrushs not too aggresive?
Apparently electric brushing is no better than manual brushing using the correct technique, however most people don't brush correctly when using a manual toothbrush, whereas with an electric you just need to guide it over the surfaces and it will do a good job.

Mmmm fancy!
I use a Sonicare, nice brush. Usually recommend Oral B though - typical woman can't give a straight answer

Another vote for sonicare, they come with a 2 year warranty which is handy as I am probably on my 6th one as they break after 6 - 12 months I find. Amazon replace without any fuss.
I've had my older version for at least 4-5 years now, and it's still going strong! It seems as though they've made a massive backwards step in quality looking at your experience. Sounds like you're rushing. There is no need to brush at all. The model I have pulses every 30 seconds to tell you to move to next section of teeth. Instructions suggest splitting into 4 zones, upper rear and front, lower rear and front. Works for me as otherwise I'd rush and do an inferior job.
wonder if the new sonic colgate is as good as the philips?
