How are you keeping Nicol@ you are due very soon, hope you are both well.

Thanks. All calm here apart from an itchy hormonal rash that appeared a few days ago, covering my body (just waiting for blood results to rule out it being more serious). Ave
The bump seems quite happy in my tummy, so I think my due date on Saturday will come and go. It is very weird knowing what is going to happen very soon, seems surreal.
Hope you are enjoying that special feeling.

My wife had that. It turned out to be something really quite serious for her, although not something which affected our baby. She was on steroids for the rest of the pregnancy and we're on alert for it this time. If it is the same thing, it is INCREDIBLY rare - the hospital actually took pictures of it because they had nothing on record. Something like one in very 5 million pregnancies.
We're due July with our first. Dad is very excited as are his family.
Still early days, 12 weeks almost and have the Nuchal scan next week. Dad is looking forward to the scan to see the baby again and see how much it has grown, which is quite a bit judging on my baby bump.
Congrats to those who's have jsut arrived and good luck to those waiting for arrival.

Thanks Stuart, I just looked up the 'pg', sounds similar to 'puppp', which I hope is my rash, as that one seems to go away.If it is the same thing, it is INCREDIBLY rare - the hospital actually took pictures of it because they had nothing on record. Something like one in very 5 million pregnancies.
I was just surprised that the midwife didn't recognise what it was. I suppose if it is serious then I will just be induced, especially as I am due.
I hope your o/h doesn't get any further outbreaks.
My wife's condition is called Pemphigoid Gestationis, which is very rare (look it up - also known as Bullous Pemphigoid of Pregnancy). The two less rare (but similar symptoms initially) are Prurigo and PUPPP.
Last time it was very nasty simply because it took hold very quickly, but as soon as she was on the steroids it calmed down, so we're much more attuned to the symptoms should they arise this time.
Still, we got an unexpected early night in the labour ward at 20 weeks, so when we went back for the real deal, we knew them all.
Have a look at this page which describes them all.
