PH Parents of 2012
Discussion
As others have said, don't buy too much. Last night I spent ages going through things that Elise has not even had on her BACK and she is only two months old. I suggest a few packs of babygrows and muslins, I had bought newborn but had to get friend to go to Mothercare and get tiny baby ones as the others where too big.
I was VERY lucky as one of the godmothers bought the car seat and the other bought the cot.
Regarding Isofix, I'm a childminder so the thought of strapping two c/minding toddlers and then seatbelt in my baby was too much hassle. I looked for second hand ones and was lucky that a cousin was selling his, I would not have paid the full price but glad I have it now considering the rain we have been having! I would not have bought a car seat second hand but you can not go wrong with buying the base s/h.

We're all pretty much ready to go now too. Just need to swap the car to a 5 door something as I think I'm going to struggle with a 3 door Audi A3 getting the baby seat in and out.........isofix or not.
Hope you're doing OK Diane & Matt, fingers crossed.
I used to laugh at my mates who swapped out there 2 door car's.............Hope you're doing OK Diane & Matt, fingers crossed.
Until I had to do the lifting in and out myself!! These baby things get ssoo heavy!!
Holy moly. Just been looking over the thread with all the good news and some sad that has been posted. We wish all the bumps and babies well for 2013!!!
Little elise is 10 months now and into everything. My Mustang GT is now gone and replaced with a rather sensible VW Caravelle. But looking at Elise's chrimbo prezzie I recently bought chances are her mamma will get something sporty again
So we have Santa.... Now here is the evil snowman

How are the 2012 babies and parents doing
Can't believe Noah is 6 months old now. He's trying to crawl, though not quite got it he's nearly there. I went back to work part time at the start of January but Noah hated it that much after 3 days with his Granny that I'm back on maternity leave until Easter. It was like bringing home a totally different baby, very withdrawn, refusing to eat and waking up screaming and sobbing his little heart out.
Noah has never really taken to his Granny or Grandad so this episode hasn't gone down too well with them. Granny took offence when we insisted he go in HIS car seat with an ISOFIX base we bought especially for her car instead of a toddler seat via seat belt that she was insisting on using if she took him out in her car.
Since this set back, she has returned the ISOFIX base and then sent a text stating they didn't want any further contact with Noah until maybe when he was walking and to find alternative childcare when I go back to work. Nor do they wish to come to his Christening in April. naturally we are thoroughly annoyed and offended by her attitude towards us and Noah
My word that is shocking from the Grandparents. TBH if they don't have much contact with Noah then it would be hard for a lot longer than 3 days, sometimes it can take up to a month for a child to settle into a new routine. But at the end of the day you know best. Most of the children that start with me are usually 9 months onwards, he just needs more mummy and daddy love for now. Can't believe Noah is 6 months old now. If you are going back to work and you are thinking about using childcare you should start having a phone about now. Do you go to any toddler groups? Is he getting used to other children?
And as for ISOFIX, what human in their right mind would shun using it, best contraption out there when it's chucking it down!! Unless you have 75+ grandparents who can't get the bloody thing to unlock.
They are the ones missing out at the end of the day.

Loving the update pics folks don't these little buggers grow so damn fast!!!
Elise was one in Feb, she was walking pushing a walker (or anything that made a noise) from about 8 months, but this week she has finally let go of the security hand and is walking on her own. It's funny as soon as you say "she's walking" everyone comments how she will be into everything, well that's always been the case.... The climbing however is driving her mummy round the bloody twist. Think I have the makings of a wee stunt woman here
Yes the last pic is of her getting medicine from a shot glass. As soon as the spoon or syringe makes an appearance the mouth goes into lockdown, as she likes taking juice from grandas glass I came up with a compromise, it does work
I also have no clue where she gets that driving pose from....

Hi all,

Ooohhhh it's gonna get worse so so soon. Been a long time since I checked in. Ella is now 10.5 months ...........She came back from her first full day on Friday with all the skin off her nose which apparently happened in the cot some how.
Unfortunately these little buggers will donk themselves off anything once they are mobile. Accidents do happen and as childminders we feel awful when it does.
They all go through stages with baths/car seats etc. perhaps change the routine and instead of a bath take her in the shower with you?

Merry Christmas to all the parents and babies of 2012. I hope your little ones are enjoying it just as much as Noah is
Debatable Crimbo eve had us sitting in A&E from 12pm till 3am. Then back home for lunch then back in as blood was found in her pee pee. All her prezzies were opened on Thursday when she was discharged. Some RVA virus along with a little urine infection. Over the worst now but not eating Crimbo morn
Crimbo afternoon
