Take it much much easier, bigger rests between runs, shorter runs etc.
I know overtraining.biggrin
Now you need to strengthen your shin muscle, with some of the exercises mentioned above if you wish to continue. If I was you I'd so general leg strengthening exercises anyway. It can only help if you wish to stick with running.

To test the vibram theory doesn't even cost you anything; just run round the local playing fields barefoot, if they're dry enough near you. I'd be surprised if after even a couple of weeks you don't see a significant difference. And no shin splits.

You're supposed to land on the outside of your foot and roll inwards, it's how the foot is designed to reduce the shock loading. smile
