Have finally got round to adding some starting pics, not sure if breakfast was the right time to do it though!!
After a week or so of procrastinating I actually got out for a run last night, skipped to week 3 of the Couch to 5k course and got home without the use of an ambulance. Was so much nicer running outside, watching the world go by is a hell of a lot better than fixating on a running machine display.

What are your goals over the next 3 months?

What are your goals over the next 3 months? There is some muscle left, it's just well concealed!! As for goals: 1. To run 5k by summer holiday (6 weeks time) 2. To run 10k by end of 3 months 3. To lose 2" from waist by summer holiday 4. To increase strength in core muscles (not sure how to measure this yet, any suggestions?)

If you want any feedback or help post it here and let some of the more knowledgeable give you feedback! LG, Hoofy etc. I haven't made any proper plans for my diet as yet, am just working on cutting out the snacking at work for now as this is my main downfall. My usual breakfast is a bowl of muesli and then I generally have a salad with chicken/tuna at lunch. Dinners could do with a shake up, we've got into the habit of eating quick and easy meals once the kids are in bed. The training plan so far consists of following the Couch to 5k plan (3 runs a week) and I am trying to find a plan for the core muscles that can be done in the evenings. Any suggestions here would be great, I have a swiss ball hidden under the bed (kids use it as a massive football!) if that helps. I hadn't linked a shrinking waistline to core strength, if anything this was associated more with the running in my head. I'm not sure if 'increase strength' is the correct term when talking about core muscles, essentially I want to work on core stability and control in order to help posture. Many moons ago I had some sessions with a physio after a car accident and we worked on excercises based on a swiss ball (seated rows, incline press-ups etc) and it made a big difference.

Ah, well, a shrinking waistline will come from adjusting your diet and doing more exercise. As you've got a core exercise plan, that should do it!

I'm just going to leave this here Seeing as how I'm not carrying it round anymore Scales now have a 0 after the 1, breaking out of the 110's was hard work, but now my first goal is in sight. Nearly 100kg Then on to clean eating and toning.

You will be able to do that. If i can do it anyone can. Just build it up dont go crackers at first.
Once i reached 5k i stook at it for a few weeks but tried to go faster. After that mix up speed with distance. Get some running trainers especially if your road running.

@ Sushi ^
That really is excellent - a massive change visually, let alone the health and 'feel good' benefits.

Good work that man. Keep at it, although you're probably discovering it's addictive and it's difficult to stop when you start seeing excellent progress like that.

Thanks for that guys, it is very much addictive, I've been adding a quick 5 minute run to the end of every workout session to "burn a couple more calories", and I'm finding myself dissapointed when my HRM says I've burnt any less than 800. I'm happy, I'm down from size 44 torusers in the first pic, to 40 in the last, and down from XXL to XL shirts, and from 19 shirt collars to 17s. The odd thing is, because I see myself daily, I haven't really noticed the change as much as when I look at the photos, then it hits me how far I've come. I picked up a 20kg kettlebell the other day, and I can't believe I used to carry that much around with me. It's f king heavy. The most obvious thing I have noticed is I no longer get out of breath when walking, or going up stairs, we have 1 flight of stairs at work, one flight, and I used to get out of breath going up them, now I can go up and down there all day and have no problems doing it. Oh and there's other stamina improvements as well PS I'll try smile in the next photo.

Well done Sushi. I can see a big difference in the shape of your face, you have lost a bit of 'chin' and you are not as jowly. Your torso shape has also improved but you don't need me to tell you that you're not there yet. May I suggest that along with your diet and training that you also work on your posture, your shoulders stoop down and forward, if you are aware of it, you can rectify it. You can also try some shrug exercises for your traps and bent over or horizontal flies for your posterior delts this will help. You have also learnt in pic3 that black is slimming, if it works, use it. Keep going.
