Not good, get yourself to a doctor/physio as soon as possible!

IMO not worth taking chances with any back injury, a simple injury can end up being a long term issue.

been there and done that frown

That's a strong bent over row! Shame about the back though :/
I agree that you should see a doctor if you're really in agony..

I've always had a strong back...struggle with the chest though...struggle getting above 100kg...think it might be my long levers (good excuse anyway!).

It's eased up throughout the day so I think I'll be ok by next week, thankfully. I did exactly the same thing before christmas at a lesser weight...need to be careful from now on!

Still feel angry with myself for doing the extra set...idiot!

The way these things pan out, it may not have been the extra set that did it. The previous two reps could have weakened something and had you just stopped then (through luck rather than expecting a problem), when you went home, you could have had the same problem just bending over to pick up a phone or your bag...

Went out for my run earlier tonight, hit my first major milestone of 5k in under 30 mins, 29.40 to be exact. biggrin. Total run distance of 8.07k in 51 minutes which I realise is outside the 1hour 10k mark but I knowingly slowed down after the 5k.

Stats as follows:

Now for a little bit of inspiration, this was me at my fittest last year in one of my fleeting professional ice hockey appearances (me in yellow) smile.

Probably 15-20kg lighter and ALOT fitter (7 miles 3 times a week plus gym sessions and ice hockey a few times a week) as I mentioned before I tend to go all out when getting fit/losing weight so 3 months I'll be back there wink

I'm the same here too if you've seen my own thread challenge 2 you'll know what I mean!

Now I eat a lot but stay low carb and with the exercise I easily stay lean.

Yesterday was a hard day on the food intake id had.

45min swim at lunch time not sure how far it was i lost count lol but must of been getting on for 3/4 of a mile.

3.95 mile run in 36.43 (outside for the first time). Its certainly different running outside. I found breathing was harder quicker and struggled to keep a constant pace. Had my phone telling me how i was doing every 0.5 mile. Quite happy with that for my first attempt.

So now i no i can do it im off to enter the run on Sunday.

Tried to take a pic this morning for the other thread but it was shocking with the light + my daughter kept getting in the way. Will have to get my Mrs to take one.

Well, to dip back in, I'm still struggling a bit with the cough and cold. Last week I tried to train through and got hit hard at the weekend, so I cut right back, kept up the fluids, OJ and vitamins and I'm feeling considerably better. Might also be something to do with getting my Caterham back on the road... smile

Anyway, I'm pleased to say that despite not really exercising - just some gentle spinning on the turbo and one short run (though my longest in 8 months) I've managed to maintain the weight loss, which is my stated goal for March.

I've switched one meal to a USN Diet Shake and kept up with my calorie goals and am currently about a kilo lighter than my starting weight. I'm not counting the chickens though - I'll need to see if that stays put once I get back in the gym or rises slightly again.

Anyway, I mentioned MyPlate Linky here in an earlier post. I have found that counting calories as one of the most effective tools for weight loss. Having to record them is a pain, so I only do it five days a week, but if you're honest, if rewards you. Below is a screenshot of the last three periods of calorie counting. It shows that when I do it, I can stick to task and generate losses, but when I stop, those losses are not maintained. As such, I'm going to try and count all the way through the six month period. I hope that this will instil a habit in me, but who knows. This loss cycle, I'm focussing on just sticking to a calorie goal and eating a balanced diet. I'm making a lot of changes so cutting back on carbs or similar is probably too much to contain in one hit. When I get to my second weight loss push later in the stretch, I'll look at some specific techniques to get improved results outside of lower calories, more exercise and cutting out alcohol.

I use an app on my phone called "Myfitnesspal". I've customized it, so in addition to calories it is also measuring intake of protein/carbs/fats. Which is really useful, as I can quickly look at what I need more of each day, and plan my meals/snacks accordingly.

Once you're in the habit, it only takes a few minutes.
