So in an effort to get a few more people in this thread, how about an update from those who posted earlier!

My OH is starting to swell now at 25 weeks, and making groaning noises when she bends down. Sleep is snatched in between being kicked (me and her), and baby clothing is beginning to multiply! Felt the baby kick for the first time which was weird moment. Bit like the scan when you see the little 'un moving for the first time.

Struggling a bit with prams, buggies etc as so much conflicting advice!

Some of my friends have said avoid the ones that have a system to convert from pram to buggy as they are very bulky and heavy, whereas others swear by them... confused

Firstly I'm snowboarding in Flaine on Jan 7th with the wife due Feb19th, hope it will be fine and she's onboard with me having one last blast with the lads before the nipper arrives, so you aren't alone. I'm 1 hour 30 from Geneva so can make a quick return if required though!

Buying a buggy is kind of like buying a car! We spend a day pushing, taking down and grilling a number of shops and sales girls about what would suit us best. Everyone has an opinion but our quinny Buzz ticked the boxes for us. Get out there and test away, I really enjoyed it and can understand buggies a lot easier than breast pumps tongue out

ETA Everything is awesome our end. Baby's room is done and Mrs Green is having a model pregnancy thus far, no sickness, obvious hormones or distress. Just a lovely happy, glowing, relaxed wife.

I'm still go between moments of blind terror and jubilation laugh

Well apart from what I mentioned earlier, that moving around is getting a tad slower, I'm getting quite a lot of backache, starting to get tired and if I go a day without crying over something stupid its a miracle.

We're almost set with stuff - just a few bits and bobs to buy and we're good to go I think.

I've started thinking seriously about my birth plan and will get a hospital bag together in the next couple of weeks just in case.

49 days and counting - it's getting exciting!!

Looks like all are paralysed by their impending responsibilty!

Not aware of any specific forums tbh, hence looking for bit more banter/camaraderie on here...

Well I had a bit of a rubbish morning -

Having moved house and areas, I am now due to deliver at a different hospital. All fine, they just book you in, but to do that they need more blood tests, as apparently the blood bank needs a sample of the specific antibodies your blood has just in case you need a transfusion during or following the birth.

This would normally be no big deal, except that I have terrible veins and everyone struggles to get blood from them. This morning 2 separate midwives tried to get blood 6 or 7 times from both arms and my right hand and all they managed to do was stress me out, make me feel ill and compound the clear fear I have of it being done. The upshot is that I still have to go back next week to get a Doctor to do it (but I'll have to go on my own as 10PS will be at work.. he'd already taken the morning to come with me today) and in the meantime it's doing nothing at all for my blood pressure, which is already on the borderline.

None of this bodes well for labour, as they will have issues finding a vein for a cannula should I need one - and one of the senior midwives I saw today wants me to look at active birth as much as I can in the next 6 weeks to try and minimise the need for an epidural(which she also thinks will be a very bad idea for me).

Be nice to your OH's guys - it's not always that much fun having a baby!

You know, I was dreading the cannula and all the bits that came with it; as I thought they'd put one in as matter of course due to my complications, but didn't need a thing, hoping you have a good one so they don't need to stab you

Sorry to hear about your ordeal Harry, not nice!

I spent some time in hospital earlier this year and had A LOT of bloods taken, I still don't like it but have pretty much overcome my fear of all things clinical. A needle through my back into my lung is not something I wish to repeat though!! yikes

Heres hoping things go a bit easier for you from here on! smile

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttt!

The missus has been upstairs in bed for the last two hours with what she believes is early stage of labour! 4 weeks early!!

Num 1 was 3 weeks early, so not unheard of.

I've been given instructions to go and clean house as in laws will be over.

I was meant to be in Dubai this weekend watching the golf, good job I didn't go. #omem

Did he turn up?

My partner has been back to the midwife this morning, with 4 weeks to go and he has gone from engaged to breech and he is back to back. Still have time to turn it around so to speak.

How is she feeling with 4 weeks left?

I'm starting to get a little fed up and want it to be done with now tbh. We finally ordered a pram and car seat this week, and are slowly and surely getting everything put together so we'll be physically ready - I'm not so sure about mentally!

My midwife has said to me that they start getting concerned about breech at about 37 weeks so I hope the little blighter turns back around soon, little 1 pence short has been head down since around 28 weeks so I'm hoping that he/she stays that way.

Well last night Mrs G woke suddenly with a pain ridden cry, I shat myself and immediately made a dive for clothes and the car keys assuming we were on for a very early labor at 30 weeks.

She had cramp in her calf rolleyes
