Oh no I just came on here to check how everyone was doing and I'd missed your post from January, how long do they think before they will find you a family BVD?
The approval process is pretty slow - even at its absolute fastest, it rarely takes less than around 5 months and that's when it's being fast-tracked (sped up in order to get a named, specified child home to you as quickly as possible) - 'normal' applications where there is not a named child already intended for placement take more like 8 months, sometimes a lot more. At the moment I don't 'have' another named child, so I'm back on the slower pathway, but because I'm looking to adopt a child with complex needs, it's almost certain that I'll be back on the fast-track, with another named child matched to me, fairly quickly - there are far more such children than there are prospective adopters for them.RoadToNowhere said:
Oh, and still really stuck for names. Anyone fancy throwing some options (for a girl) into the pot?
I wanted to use the name Calypso for a girl but now it's a boy it's back to the drawing board. Choosing names for Girls is a bit easier (IMHO) as there seems to be more choice.BVD - here's hoping you find a lovely wee girl or chap soon
India Grace was our girl's name - and still will be if we ever have one.
Sebastién has reflux quite badly at the moment which is stressful and upsetting - kicking like no tomorrow, arching his back and throwing his head around along with projectile vomiting and no sleep pattern makes for a very tired mummy.
On the upside though I joined my new gym on Thursday and am going for the first time tomorrow - a few hours a week to myself is sorely needed at the moment even if it makes me feel slightly guilty.

Mrs DoubleSix is going in to be induced tomorrow.
Bit anxious as she's only little and has no tolerance of pain. Not looking forward to seeing her distressed, but am looking forward to meeting the little one.
How is it going? I'd imagine the contractions are kicking in now..Bit anxious as she's only little and has no tolerance of pain. Not looking forward to seeing her distressed, but am looking forward to meeting the little one.

Had a call from hospital to say they were pushing us back until tomorrow
Mrs was very upset and I disappointed. But...
Had another sweep and all hell seems to have broken loose. We're back at home and Mrs DoubleSix has adopted game face and is clearly in the early stages. I'm new to all this though so am just doing much back rubbing between wails.
and sheepishly checking PH of course
How is everyone doing?
Little Theo is just over 10 weeks now, and growing so fast. He managed to sleep between 23.00 and 06.30 last night which we were very pleased with. He had his first bowl of baby rice yesterday too.
I absolutely adore him, and love seeing him when I get home in the evenings. I haven't found having a child anywhere near as hard as I imagined, but I think we have been very lucky with him as he is as good as gold. I'm sure that will change in time! I think my highlight so far are the smiles I get each evening when I get home, but I love carrying him upstairs to bed when he has fallen asleep in my arms. Part of me can't wait for him to get a bit older so we can interact more, but another part of me want's him to stay like this forever
My girlfriend dressed him in a monster outfit I got for him a while back and sent me the picture today. Unimpressed is an understatement!
