PH Parents of 2013
Discussion
Bit of an update for me - 'due date' (so to speak) now looking to be somewhere between Halloween and Christmas. Got a really really fabulous adoption social worker who's just completed an adoption with a disabled parent, which is awesome - didn't have to use my pre-prepared "it doesn't matter how MY needs are met, just that they are" speech! It's been really positive all round so far - it does help that I'm adopting from a very hard-to-place group, so they already know that they'll be able to make a placement very quickly once I'm approved - there are so many more waiting children than there are parents.
Next step, preparation group (training course thing) in June unless someone drops out from the May one.

My wife and I attended the '12 week' scan yesterday. Turns out the baby is a little smaller, around 11 weeks, but we couldn't get an accurate measurement as it wouldn't stay still! Quite surreal watching a tiny person move around on the screen. Our due date is roughly Halloween. Another scan on the 24th will narrow it down a little more.
Now for the gathering of baby 'stuff'!

Peace & quiet is over.
Sophie Alice arrived last night in record time, they didn't even have time to fill the pool.
In the end it went really well although I'm a bit tired this morning & my fingers got squeezed a bit.
That's us done with procreating and my other half is looking at bricks in the Wickes catalogue with a funny look in her eye.

Bit of an update from me. I feel S10 GTA's comments ring very true for me I must say. I havnt found fatherhood as difficult as people had warned, although it is early days of course!
It's an incredible experience all in all and easily the most joyous time of my life so far. My priorities have been turned upside down and im no longer so fussed about the material things such as 'that car I want', I just want her to be content/happy.
Its brought me closer to my family and has given me great insight into how awesome my own parents have been. Sadly my dad will never meet her but in a strange way it has enabled me to have an adult connection with my father that I missed out on i.e. im experiencing what he must have.
Each day has a special 'reward' and I just cant wait to get home and see her little face. Ive gone a bit soppy over the little mite I fear... Cest la vie.

Yep they sure do!
We've had a tough couple of weeks with Sebastién, including him being admitted to hospital last weekend to keep an eye on him as he caught scarlet fever and possibly another infection on top.
He's thankfully getting a lot better now but is a sleepy little boy and as I type he's sound asleep on me - it's kicked his bum a bit to be honest, but he's a stubborn boy.
? And he's learnt to giggle, it's the best sound ever!!
