Well all has been going perfectly so far, on course for a far more routine pregnancy this time!
After the trouble last time we've been seeing consultants and having regular scans. Today, 29 weeks in (exactly the same time we started having trouble last time give or take a week) the consultant is concerned about a slowdown in growth and has brought forward the next scan/consultancy.
Those who know my story of 2009 will understand that this has hit my OH a bit hard and despite this being a very different type of pregnancy and me expecting the consultant is just being very cautious I still can't help but be a bit apprehensive myself.

Hmmm, I think we're in business. She's getting pains every 15 minutes or so.
At least I got some sleep, last I'll get for a while I guess!
Good luck and I am sure everything will be fine. Enjoy the day as it will be over quickly! At least I got some sleep, last I'll get for a while I guess!
Or maybe not.
They seemed to have stopped or slowed and she's fallen asleep on the other sofa! Gah! I can these might be a stressful few days!
I'd like to say I wish we could just get it done but the truth is I just don't fancy work tomorrow!

Not knowing all your details I know where you are coming from, we has scans every 2-4 weeks from 20 weeks. It was quite difficult up to 25 weeks for us, passing that milestone was good. We still had problems with people we know making comments like "you don't look that big for X weeks" even though they knew the whole history. After the trouble last time we've been seeing consultants and having regular scans. I have to say the morning of my wife's elective C-section and the birth itself was probably the most stressful day ever, there wasn't any time to enjoy any part of it (even following the birth), as I was still expecting something to go wrong.
Its been 10 days now and having a baby in the house now is like it was the first time, just 2 lb 6 oz smaller!
Our consultant was most worried out a placenta not functioning, so we had plenty of test to that. It still worries me when consultants say that placentas can start to not function from 38 weeks (with the obvious effects), therefore our elective section was at 38 weeks. Looks like everybody else is playing the numbers, although they don't really tell you.
Anyway fingers crossed for you both.
Just so no pregnant parents think that their baby's placenta may suddenly stop at 38 weeks, that's not likely. Yes there is some natural degrading in late pregnancy but studies show this is a normal physiological process. Doctors do induce after 42 weeks though as this is when the rates of stillbirth MAY increase (data is from the 70s!).
At whatever stage of pregnancy, fetal movements are the best indication that baby is happy. Any decease in what is normal for your baby and please get checked over.

Lois,
Thanks for that, not trying to worry people!
The point being that there is lots of stuff they don't tell you as if you a low risk it doesn't apply to you. Right up to the point that something does, you then become higher risk and they tell you other stuff! We still had the consultant doing the section openly saying to my wife on the morning of the section, "well I would have stopped your aspirin 2 weeks ago" as opposed to 3 days.
Just a little worrying when they are reading your notes for the first time that morning, didn't matter the lady was a pro and the all the midwife shave said its one of the tidiest wounds they have ever seen!

Our last pregnancy was a twin one, growth stopped around 29-30 weeks, one died at 33 weeks. Different scenario but nervous none the less.
I'm sure all is actually fine :-)
