PH Parents of 2013
Discussion
Just had our first scan earlier on today, we're just over 12 weeks in and have been given a due date of 1st Jan 2013.
I was quite surprised from the scan at how animated the baby is even at that age, with legs and arms flailing around everywhere.
Other half hasn't been too bad on the morning sickness front but is absolutely dog tired the whole time and starving at the most random times of day. So far so good though and perfect excuse to replace my wife's car.

Well, I just got home from work to a slightly coy GF and have just been given 'the news'.
Very strange feeling. This will be our first.
I'm elated but nervous. I won't be telling F&F for a while but it's nice to be able to share on here
I've got to go into hospital for an operation to remove part of my lung, and a biopsy, on the 4th of July so this is an emotional time for us. I guess I have something else incredibly important to focus on now, which is no bad thing.
Congrats to all the other posters on here!

Congratulations double six, hope it all works out for you.
We have just been for our first scan, and frankly it was amazing. They had an 8 week old machine and the images were amazing. You could see the heart beating, bones, brain, everything. My girlfriend let out a little whimper when see saw it. It was very special.
Our date has been moved to 30th Dec, so I think I'm going to stay in the 2013 topic, cos if its anything like me it will be late (thats what got us in this situation in the first place )

Well it appears me and my wife are expecting our first in early Feb!
Delighted and bemused in equal measure. We decided it was time to start a family an "try".
I assumed that this process would take some time but no, 6 weeks in and we were cooking.
Mrs Green is a midwife which has been an absolute blessing as I have been presented with allsorts of charts/books and have an extremely knowlegable young lady at the helm.
I am, however, a little concerned that the birth is going to be MrsG shreiking at the poor staff and informing them that they are doing it all wrong!
So thats us, I look forward to sharing the ups and downs with you all.

Well, bit of a roller coaster since my last post. The weekend before my op we had scare. Mrs DoubleSix woke up bleeding in the night, took her to out of hours surgery fearing we had lost baby. Dr referred us for an emergency scan the next day and this showed all to be ok... Phew! Not uncommon apparently.
Having been sufficiently reassured and also got through my operation successfully things are now starting to look up.

12 week scan on Tues, quite excited really.
You will love it!The GF is the eldest of her siblings so it will be great for her folks to finally have a grandchild too!
Our's went smoothly too! (12 week). You can't really prepare yourself can you? I was surprised by how active the little 'un was. Arms waving, legs kicking, I didn't expect that at all.
Mrs DoubleSixx seems much more relaxed to know all appears well at this early stage. Off to her folks to break the news this weekend, should be fun.

Ours gave us a little clap, had a wriggle and then promptly fell asleep!
Hoping this tread will start to pick up steam now as more 2013 babys are announced.
