I've done it twice through properly with a rest for three weeks inbetween where I did it two or three times a week, I've been off it for about five weeks doing it again twice a week but am gonna start it again I think.
Was gonna start some kettle bell training but didn't get round to it will have to get some I think.

I have just been keeping it going at 1 or 2 times a week as I have been running and riding the other days.

Did the first workout yesterday morning as a warm up, planning on starting the program for real tomorrow night (not doing Fit Test, going to use my numbers from Thursday night).

Aye, that will be my calves sore today then biggrin

Had to stop around 10 times yesterday, pausing the workout each time as I was absolutely destroyed.

Mrs Chimp told me my lips had turned a bit blue afterwards but I felt pretty good.

Went out and bought a Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor as I was aware of Shaun mentioning check your heart rate regularly through the workout.

Sore, but happy today.

So I am still going!

Did Plyometric Cardio Tuesday, and Cardio Power & Resistance last night.

Muscles felt fine yesterday but right calf solid again today. Lots of Deep Heat on it last night.

Hoping Cardio Recovery is a little lighter as it's name suggests but taking nothing for granted biggrin

Keeping an eye on my heart rate, new monitor working great and it's peace of mind.

Have only had 1 can of fizzy juice since Saturday which is a big drop for me, no bread or potatoes, no crisps or chocolate bars since last Thursday and haven't had a drink since the World Cup Final.

Hopefully this new workout coupled with my changed diet will see some gains.

Cardio Recovery last night.

Not too bad but difficult at times to hold the poses for the length of time.

Back on it again tonight though.

I've lost 2lb since Monday a combination of diet change and the workout.

Happy days.

Just restarted again after a lay off since Feb with a small inguinal hernia, doc says as it only aches put up with it at your age (55 ffs ) and a rotator cuff injury which meant the wife had to pull my T shirt off for the first few weeks.

Had been doing this for the best part of 2 years 4-6 days a week.

So I thought, what the hell I can just start again on the 60 min CD,

Kin Hell, 6 months rest, thought I was going to die last night, managed to keep up with most of it in the plyo 60 min CD, struggled with the full body drill, moving press up, couldn’t go as fast so stuck with simple press ups instead.

Told myself tonight will get easier again, wife said make sure the insurance is paid up.

Let myself go last few years....

..at 118Kg, 5ft 11".......and 46 years old....am I too out of shape for this?

More worried about my ruptured ACL, torn tricep ligament, torn acro-mio-clavicular ligament - and torn ankle ligaments, and plantar fasciitis than the outright fitness bit TBH!! .... never race off road bikes!!

I'd be very cautious as it involved a lot of joint useage.

I would say at that weight and with the worry of all those problems that you should probably start with some mild gym work. Then if that goes OK maybe move onto this.
These workouts are all weight bearing and there is a lot of jumping etc which wont be great for you straight off the bat.
Maybe try a cross trainer or rowing or some swimming for a bit to get you back into shape without the impacts then if you are doing OK maybe try this.
In all honesty there is nothing special about these workouts so dont feel it is your only hope, you get fitter and slimmer as they are making you workout everyday, spend an hour making good safe use of a gym everyday and you will get similar results smile

Had to admit defeat last night frown

My right calf has been solid for the past 2 days. Lots of massage and deep heat have helped a bit but there was no way I could have done yesterdays workout.

On the plus side, I went to the "Foodie Festival" in Edinburgh and managed to resist all the goodies on offer and free booze!

I have now lost 3lb since last Monday and resting today so hopefully be back up and running tomorrow night and back on schedule for week 2.

good going. I seem to be in a minority that does not strain my calves doing this workout. No idea if that means Im doing right or wrong compared to others. I do try and use them when Shaun says things like "jump from the bottom" etc
I only seem to get sore thighs and occasionally glutes.

OK so I am now 2 weeks into the workout.

Saturday night was the hardest yet, Pure Cardio followed by another 16 mins of Cardio Abs, but a great 672kcals burnt according to my HRM.

I found a foam roller works great with my sore calf, and fingers crossed it feels fine now.

Got my second fitness test tonight so looking forward to seeing if I have progressed, I will post up results.

Weight loss is now 6lb in 2 weeks so sitting on 13st dead. It's been a few years since I was sub 13 stone so looking forward to seeing a 12 on the scales soon smile

I have not had a can of fizzy juice, chocolate bar or packets of crisps for over 2 weeks now and to be honest I don't miss them! I used to be 4 cans of juice a day or so but now living on diluting juice/water and feeling the benefits.

Haven't had any bread or potatoes either and feel so less bagged up.

I am now wearing t-shirts I had recently stopped wearing due to them being too tight. I'm not saying i'm stick thin by any means but I can notice a difference already.

I'll save the before and after photos for when I get to the end of the 60 days.

Quick question about Insanity. I live in a 3rd floor flat and have neighbours underneath (we have carpets though, not wooden floors).

I've been wanting to get Insanity for ages now but keep putting it off as I don't want to annoy the people downstairs with all the jumping about. Is there a lot of jumping involved? For those that do it, would you like to live underneath someone who does Insanity 6 nights a week or would it become annoying?

Thanks

Unfortunately there is quite a lot of jumping, sprinting on the spot, things like that so I think it would transmit a fair bit of noise down the way.

Hmm...that's what I thought. Don't want to be evicted in the pursuit of fitness. Thanks!

how bad/ creaky/ transmitting are the floors. The flat I used to live in was concrete floors so downstairs would not have noticed but if I did it upstairs in my house now it would be bad. Could get an exercise mat to take some of the impact. Also the idea with insanity is to kinda absorb your jump/ step landings rather than them being hard impacts so might not be as bad as you think.
Could always let your downstairs neighbours know you are planning a test to see if they would be annoyed by it then use one of the crappy you tube vids of people working out to try part of a workout then see if the neighbour got annoyed.

Fit test results:

Switch Kicks - 116 (singles) > 120
Power Jacks - 54 > 62
Power Knees - 76 > 87
Power Jumps - 45 > 35 ??
Globe Jumps - 5 > 10
Suicide Jumps - 10 > 15
Push Up Jacks - 22 > 32
Low Plank Oblique - 43 > 58

Really chuffed with these, although think I kind of hit a wall when doing Power Jumps as i'm down 10 from week 1 frown

Still, overall my figures are up which can only be good!

Blimey! thats impressive gains. In 2 weeks you have, in most areas, improved how I did in 6-8 weeks!!
Did you do the fit test straight through this time or have a break like in your first one?
Maybe I should start again and take the diet a bit more seriously and get on the powders.
