Blimey! thats impressive gains. In 2 weeks you have, in most areas, improved how I did in 6-8 weeks!!
Did you do the fit test straight through this time or have a break like in your first one?
Maybe I should start again and take the diet a bit more seriously and get on the powders.
I had a 40 second rest after the 4th exercise (on top of the minute they do in the video) as I was knackered - probably went too hard on the first exercises!

I weighed myself this morning and I have put weight ON! I think it must be down to building muscle from this workout, I don't think it is the best purely for weight loss, but I have noticed a difference in my shape and feel better which is the most important thing IMO.

To be honest mate, I was a bit out of condition when I started this, I had done no exercise for 10 days when I did the first Fit Test and I think it showed in my results.

how bad/ creaky/ transmitting are the floors. The flat I used to live in was concrete floors so downstairs would not have noticed but if I did it upstairs in my house now it would be bad. Could get an exercise mat to take some of the impact. Also the idea with insanity is to kinda absorb your jump/ step landings rather than them being hard impacts so might not be as bad as you think.
Could always let your downstairs neighbours know you are planning a test to see if they would be annoyed by it then use one of the crappy you tube vids of people working out to try part of a workout then see if the neighbour got annoyed.
It's wooden floors - I can hear the people upstairs just walking about so I assume if I started doing Insanity, the people underneath would get rather annoyed rather quickly.

Back to the gym I suppose! Thanks for the help.

Similar to the other questions here, how much space do you need for this? I have pretty limited space! -Is it mainly dancing about on the spot or zipping all over the place?

not too much. Its mostly on the spot with a few moves that require a 2-3 steps worth of travel.
I just move the coffee table and do it in my living room. My next door neighbour does it in his 1 car garage and he has other st like a freezer and weights kit in there.

Essentially if you can get a square of floor that is as big each way as you are from feet to fingers if you were holding them above your head you can just about get away with it.
I can get 2 of us doing it in my living room without bashing into eachother and I'm only in a normal sized 3 bed house

But wherever you do it, bear in mind you will sweat...a lot!

I do it in my garage as I have a netbook and TV set up in there and rubber matting on the floor which helps absorb my landings on my dodgy knee greatly.

I also have a fan set up to help me cool down a bit as you will get very warm.

yeah I second that, my Mrs is fed up of me sweating my knackers off in the living room so I have now been banished to the back garden with my laptop.I use a thin camping mattress to put my hands on when doing press ups etc
i did have a fan set up indoors too. not bothered with it outside, I found new levels of sweat doing it under the beating sun

Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs together, on a school night?!

Feck me, that was hard going last night, and my right calf has flared up again.

Time to get my new foam roller out and hopefully, with tonight being cardio recovery, i'll be back ready for Friday nights shenanigans.

Weight loss has now stopped completely, I am 4lb down from when I started but definitely noticing a change in shape of the old gut!

Feel much better about myself already.

I am also strangely being drawn to having a look at Hip Hop Abs biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Think Hip Hop Abs was just a bit too camp for me lol, also it seems to have Tanya in a starring role again and I dont want to put my TV at risk of flying bricks.
Give it 3 weeks and see what it feels like to do cardio abs after the Max cardio workout. Careful with the diamond jumps though, twanged my back doing them at week 7, changed to doing power jacks instead after that.
I think the recovery ones are my worst. Like the full cardio ones though.

I think life is trying to tell me something!

A few years ago I went on a health drive, went to the gym, etc. As soon as I started to notice a change, I caught chickenpox from Emma and it all had to stop.

Step forward 2 years and I started doing weights at the gym. Really began to enjoy it and I was able to take the weights up over time so making good progress... Until I did my rotator cuff and it all stopped. 6 months of physio after that one.

So, 2 years ago I thought I'd give running a revisit (used to run as a kid). Signed up for a 10k and was getting close to breaking my target of sub 1 hour when my left knee started playing up so it all stopped.

And so we get to today. I've been following the Insanity workout. It's been hard but enjoyable and I've just come to the end of week 3. My fit test results were getting better and I had started to notice a slight difference physically.

Until Saturday... I've been bedridden with a sickness bug and have lost half a stone since Saturday! It has totally wiped me out and also curtailed any workouts for the time being.

Maybe I am just meant to live a sedentary lifestyle!

Yes, I was just feeling low when I posted that.

My current contract finishes this Friday so I'm going to take a few weeks off and I'll have loads more time to get back into the workout & get some walking/cycling done too.

Cheers bud.

I've just started doing this - 2.5 weeks in. I'm sure my quads tighten up just thinking about it.

I'm not recording weight loss, and I haven't changed my diet (eat fairly healthy anyway) and as I'm fairly slim as it is, just doing it more for cardio.

Freaking hard work though, and for some reason while I'm sure it is getting easier, it damn well doesn't feel like it is. My main problem is finding the time - with prep/shower it's still almost 90mins of your day, not easy to achieve 6 days a week.

You could still see good gains if you did it every other day. Ur gonna need to find another 20-30 mins when you switch up to month 2.

Right, as I'm sure many others will be, I'm starting up the fitness!

I've got Insanity Deluxe and I plan to start tomorrow. I expect I'll find it VERY VERY hard as the past 12 months in particular have been lazy due to too much work. I am (well was!) a decent county-ish level badminton player but poor diet, drinking, not enough play/exercise has seriously f**ked me up.

My weight over the last 5 years has peaked at 18.5 stone (seriously! This is when I started a major diet) and lowest has been 11.5 stone (when I stopped the diet). I'm now around 14 stone and I want to be 12 stone for my wedding in August as well as getting back up to the level of badminton and tennis I had been playing.

Results to follow but will be good to source some inspiration from this thread, having looked through it there seems to be some great results.

The 60 day course will run alongside probably 2 nights of badminton and my aim is to lose 2 stone in the 60 days.

Wish me luck!

Good luck!

If you find it tough going, you may find it more effective to get up to a half decent level of fitness using one of the P90X routines (I'd recommend either P90X or P90X3). Several people I know jumped straight into Insanity and just couldn't do it. P90X is just as hard but is less dependant upon a high level of fitness at the start.

Yes good luck!

The biggest difficulty other than dealing with the physical exertion (which is extreme, believe me - particularly month two), is finding the time. Month one the work outs are around 40 mins which I found easy enough most nights to fit in. The month two work outs are 48+16 (max cardio and abs), 55 and 59 mins which takes some fitting in.

I always did the workouts after work when I got home. Problem is you can't eat until you've done it otherwise you'll make a mess on the floor! This leaves you eating rather late some nights.

If you do it properly you will lose weight. To lose two stone you will need to watch your diet.

I think if you eat normally it should well be achievable by August.
I lost about 21-22lbs in the 2 months and was eating like a bin lorry.
Good luck with it though chap, you will have seen my results earlier in the thread.
The beauty of ding it at home is that you can come home from work, have diner wait a couple of hours then bosh out a workout in the evening. There were a couple of times I found myself working out at gone 10pm but you can just have a shower and flop into bed.

You dont need to be mega fit to start with I couldnt get through any of the workouts without taking multiple breaks. But you push yourself and improve but you do need to have that determination to better yourself rather than an attitude of "well I have done a bit of exercise now I can just sit this one out" as you will only end up doing half the DVD.

A local leisure centre has started doing Group Insanity workouts (£25 for 4 sessions a month) seems bloody pointless and expensive.
