Thanks guy's. I've done a little research and think I will start with the Insanity DVD's as aparently its more aerobic based, which is what I need for fat loss. Then sell it on ebay for £20 less than I paid new, and buy P90X. Will let you know how I get on.
Excercise will enhance your quality of life. The food you eat will help you lose weight.
Have both and would recommend p90x as Tony is more personable and the programming more varied.

No way could I have done Insanity without P90X first. 5678 said:

How much physical space do you need to do these workouts?
Not a lot. Enough to lay down and a bit extra. Just a quick bump for this....
Haven't done much since completing back in October - two or three sessions each week and nothing over Christmas at all but not put any weight back on despite the festive excesses - which I wasn't too bothered about.
Lost a tiny bit of the tone I had and feeling in need of a bit more energy so going to start again at the weekend..."bring it" (again!!)
How's everyone else doing?

I really struggled to find a convenient time to complete it every day and ended up abandoning it. If I did it early in the morning I'd wake the kids and they'd make it a nightmare to complete all the exercises. A period of late nights at work meant that I struggled to fit it in the evenings. It became a real chore to try and fit it all in.
The solution, I've joined a Crossfit gym which I can go to before work without interruption.

Similar story for me, finished my 1st round September then been dabbling with it since then.Haven't done much since completing back in October - two or three sessions each week and nothing over Christmas at all but not put any weight back on despite the festive excesses - which I wasn't too bothered about.

I have keep up the food (well about80%) an restarted the programme last week, already got the buzz back an finding it easier to get my head round probably because I know what to expect!
Looking forward to the end of week 4 (results for me are noticeable then) Bring it!

I used the 10 minute workout programme that the same company do to get me in to a routine and used to the various exercises, once I felt them getting easier I then progressed to P90x!
It's a tough workout programme but very rewarding, enjoy!
How long did it take you to get to a level where you could take on P90X?It's a tough workout programme but very rewarding, enjoy!
I started P90X a couple of years ago, when I was training for a triathlon - about 2 weeks in I did my Achilles and never got back to it.
Having had 3 kids since that point, and put on a ton of weight I know I'm not in a position to go straight into P90X, so was considering that 10 minute trainer (or whatever it is called) as an intro.

I got hold of a copy of P90 which is better for easing yourself into it, there are only 5 videos total and 2 of those are higher intensity versions of the others, so 3 different workouts in reality. It is a good primer as most of the major elements of P90X are in there, but condensed down so you're doing a cardio workout one day, followed by resistance training, then back to the cardio. I found there wasn't that variety that you got with P90X and started to get a bit bored before too long, but for a month or so to get you back in the swing of things it's a good start. I did 10 minute trainer for about 3 weeks to get me in to the getting up early and training in the morning routin, p90 would probably be the next step then p90x.I started P90X a couple of years ago, when I was training for a triathlon - about 2 weeks in I did my Achilles and never got back to it.

I suppose it all depends on how fit you currently you are, the way I see it is to take your time and build slowly to avoid injury/ getting too sore an being put off, what's an extra month or two?
If you do buy these other programmes you can always recoup your £££s and sell them in eBay once you've finished?
Started p90x yesterday, just done pyromaniacs or whatever it's called. Flip me, 1163 calories in 1hr 7 mins. And yet if one watched it from the couch, it looks like nothing!
I could not do some of the moves as I have a vey dodgy knee, following a bad knee op and complications in 2009, but hope it will improve with training and less weight! Good thing was as tony was reading out his heartbeat, mine was not too far off, a little higher maybe but not too bad, pretty much 155 max and average of 144 during the time. When I could not safely do a move, I just replaced with something similar I could do, so the squat jacks were replaced with squat jumps first time and normal jacks second time. I modified some of the twisty stuff like the woman on the vid did, (she's a substantial unit! and clearly not as filthy as the woman in the first vid!! )
My legs feel a bit fooled just walking upstairs, so I think by Sunday I may be unable to actually walk!
I will stick with it up to going skiing in early feb, may take that week off as ill be knackered after a week of ski scootering, but will pick it up when I return. Few bits to sort, some better more varied weights, a few more bands, etc and am considering the protein shakes etc, as I'm getting fed up of eating meat and eggs all the time, but overall I reckon it is decent value, and it is very well presented (not looked at yoga yet)!

Im on the second month of my second round of p90x, definately seen some good results although Ive not been sticking to the diet as religously as I did in the first round (i don't need to lose weight). Going to complete this round then move onto something else for a while for a change, may be try Insanity.
I faded out from P90X after about 9 weeks. I struggled to fit in the time with childcare duties and general lack of sleep!
After an easter binge however, I'm back on it. The diet starts today (1650 net cals) and I'm going to try and fit in at least a couple of P90X sessions a week. I know it's not the programme, but it's bloody good exercise and worked well for me. I'm going to do Plyo and then a couple of strength sessions.

I decided to have a crack at P90X.
I am not unfit (run semi-regularly), can bosh out a 10k no probs without any prep.
Did Chest & Back, and Ab Ripper X on Friday afternoon, and my arms are fkED.
I don't have a problem modifying exercises, and completing all the exercises (in a fashion), and it felt great.
But two days on, I can hardly move my arms above shoulder height now.
Is this 'normal' and once they've recovered have another go...??
Ease into it and start the program hardcore in a few weeks?
