Not any more. Last time it was covered, ukwill was experiencing good results with backloading and OC regularly does carb cycling.

Backloading does make sense, though.

Both the lifts in our place broke today, so you'd have to walk up to the seventh floor. A fair walk, but hardly the end of the world. Except that one of the officie fatties had to take the day off because she couldn't make it up......

6' & 11 stone has to be anorexia central and a sign of a potential student life not lived, surely? I'm a touch taller and would look very ill at that weight. Very, very ill.
You might want to suggest to these people that they eat a curry or kebab or two and sink a few ales (Guinness by the sounds of things). I consider myself vaguely lucky to have walked out of Uni @ 15 1/2 stone - Didn't look good, but goes with the lifestyle (or did, by the sounds of it). Plenty of time to shift the after effects of a few years of fun.
have to agree Im 6 ft 3 and 14 stone and Im trying to bulk to 15 stone... when I was 11 stone 10 about a year an a half ago I looked genuinely Ill.. gaunt features and had the body of a 12 year old. I think the key is that people these days generally do very little exercise at all.. I gym 4 days a week and take part in a lot of football and rugby. plus if you go intoa KFC or Maccy D's everyone seems to be the sort that really doesnt need the food!

edit: to add, the guy that mentioned that hot girls are becoming rarer and rarer is so true, Im meeting a girl from couple hundred miles from me this weekend... we met before and shes that hot I couldnt pass up meeting again, my mates think im mad but imo the lack of any talent in my local area has forced my hand :P

hehe

I often wonder if certain people go into an Eat All You Can Chinese buffet in a kind of "Challenge Accepted!" mindset. I admit that I do... but I hit the gym before and after.

yes It'd be rude not to.

I also tend to avoid the cheap stuff like rice and noodles and go for the beef, pork and seafood. FFS I really fancy going now. hehe

Ha. That's usually the starter. 3-4 pancakes with a bowl of duck... a break with some kind of soup (stupid, really, as it takes up space)... and then a big plate of every meat I can find. It always looks like roadkill. biggrin

The backloading bit refers to loading glycogen back into muscles.

I can get very lean quite easily doing this, it works for me.

There's lots of different routes to great shape and folk will argue their method is best but the truth is as long as its healthy and gets you to your goal then it really doesn't matter too much.

I stay low carb 6 days a week and then enjoy a day of eating/drinking whatever suits me and that works so essentially week days are a relatively strict diet and the Saturday and sometimes Sunday where I do most of my socializing involve letting go. In the early days for those that need to lose a decent amount of weight you'll need to be strict but once you are fairly lean you can be far more relaxed.

I've also found as I've gained muscle mass it gets far easier (5'10 nearly 16st) to stay lean especially when combined with intensive training for me which is 3-4 days of lifting hard and intensely for 45 minutes.

Nah I'm not that big.

I think I'm naturally heavier than I look, dare I say it as a non-fat person but I think I have big bones lol!

Most people guess my weight around 15st, I think weight isn't always that important as we are all different shapes and sizes.

Exactly the same kind of barbarian who shoves roast potatoes up his arse with a roast chicken and some cabbage, only with slightly less disposable income.

Just read up on that - it seems to advise
- skipping breakfast completely (ie staying in a post-sleep catabolic state for longer = bad for muscle groth)
- eating loads of carbs last thing at night (ie just when the body is most likely to convert them straight to fat = bad for fat loss)

For every 1 person that seems to thing the above is a good idea, there will be 1000 who say the exact opposite (carbs in the morning, none after 6pm, protein/aminos at night)
