The only downside I found about being very lean is that I got cold quickly (no insulation y'see hehe).
Dunno like, every fat bird I've ever bucked has been cold to the touch - too much padding to heat, I figured ; )
You're sure they were alive, aren't you.

Indeed, I bow to your extensive experience which would also suggest they are well-insulated (like wot I sed innit).

A serious point here; in the event of a fire, you cannot use lifts. Is there provision in place to get her down the stairs if there is a fire? I have a drag mat (seriously!) - you put a person in the mat and it slides along the floor. Useful for disabled people in wheel chairs as well.

It's not pretty, and it's not comfy (we've tested it), but it will get you down the stairs in case of a fire.

We've had fire drills before and she still manages to walk down the stairs, since she's not registered disabled. We do have two other people who have difficulty walking, but to be honest I don't actually know what the procedure is for them.

On an unrelated note, the worst thing about no lifts is listening to the smokers whining they don't have time for a fag on their break rolleyes

biggrin

Sounds like a giggle. Although, if there is a fire and you load her on to that, she'll be suing the company for breach of her human rights as everyone falls about laughing if she's dragged down 7 flights of steps.

6' & 11 stone has to be anorexia central and a sign of a potential student life not lived, surely? I'm a touch taller and would look very ill at that weight. Very, very ill.
have to agree Im 6 ft 3 and 14 stone and Im trying to bulk to 15 stone... when I was 11 stone 10 about a year an a half ago I looked genuinely Ill.. gaunt features and had the body of a 12 year old.
FFS, I genuinely despair. banghead

Genuine question . . . can either of you can imagine a phenotype that isn't "anorexic" at that weight and height? Yes or no?
I'm 5ft 9 and over the last 12months of pretty intense training I've managed to get my weight up from 10 stone dead to 11 stone dead. Now I have always had a very 'slight' build, but at no point have I ever looked "anorexic"!! Now because of my build, at 11 stone any further size gains have become unbelievably difficult for me to achieve. So much so that I am now 'cutting' for a few weeks before my holiday in order to remove some of the bodyfat that's accumulated whilst bulking up. So yes, it is possible to be that weight and height and still be far from looking ill! hehe
yes but your 5 ft 9 so 11 stone is probably ok for you.. add just over 6 inches to your height and you would look like a lanky streak of piss.

Edit to Add: the guy talking about the BMI of 20 something at 11 stone and 6ft, BMI is a poor indicator of anything.. It doesnt take into account anything other than height and weight. basically according to BMI, most of my rugby mates should be seeing a specialist to deal with being morbidly obese.

You're on the money, which is why I posted my comical BMI level.

I recently joined a new doctors due to moving location and the tests they have you do when joining are all automated. So I do the BP test, all fine, do the height test and then do a weight test and then the machine tells me I'm morbidly obese! I laughed.

I then get a call to come in and talk about my weight and the receptionist thinks I'm in denial about my weight when I say I do weight lifting so begrudgingly I go in as I needed some inhalers anyway and the nurse ticks me off for wasting her time for a prescription of inhalers that only a doctor can hand out.

All amusing stuff, still I got my inhalers and the doc no longer thinks I'm a fatty!

So what do you want to do about it?

I say legalise canabalism. Those who can't run fast enough get eaten, or they learn to run fast enough and shed pounds in the process.

It won't just cure obesity (or public embarrassment on a civilsational scale as I see it) though. It will cure the employment issues (want a job, eat the person who has it), cure economic issues (reduce overcrowding and correct supply and demand), cure fiscal problems (got debt, eat the person with the richest-stocked house), cure food over-pricing (suddenly all food markets have to compete with a freely available and abundant source), return to naturism and cure the weakening human gene pool (the weak die, the strong survive), and the best balanced micro and macro nutrient food source there is for a human etc...

The one and only drawback is someone decided that canabalism is not humane. A reason why, no Alpha male can find.

Also, I'm not liking the "drag" aspect of that - I wouldn't fancy being run over by the person I was trying to assist...

Hmmmm some great suggestions there, I'll keep them in mind should I find myself in a position of power.

In the meantime, go and have a little lie down
