Do these things work?

I see them a lot on teleshopping channels late at night and get emails about them? Seem cheap as chips

I have a bit of a gut and to be honest I can’t be arsed doing exercise to loose it ( I have stopped drinking beer and Ribenna but never made a difference) I don’t want a washboard stomach but itd be nice if my leathers started to fit again.

So can I just strap one on and feel the burn or do I need to move more and eat less to loose my gut.

what do you eat thats bad then? whats did you eat yesterday?

a good diet can help you lose weight without doing much exercise.

;o)

to your original question no those belts do not work. u might get slightly harder abs but if you have fat on top then what is the point in that?!

Breakfast – sugar puffs or frosties

Lunch – Fruit salad things, crisps and a chocolate bar

Dinner – spaghetti bolognaise or mince in tatties or pizza or chicken and potatoes or chicken wraps.

Desert – 2 to 3 mini twisters a night.

Pretty good diet I thought.

I mean not great but not a lot of fat in it.

I cut out Ribenna and Irn Bru as the sugars were mental in them.

I now drink no added sugar juice.

You won't lose weight by using them if that's what you're hoping. These machines (arguably) strengthen the abdominal muscles (personally I don't believe it) but no matter how strong your abs are they can still be buried under a layer of fat. I suggest you google something like "spot reduction myth" for further clarification.

There is no easy way to get in shape. You just have to bite the bullet and get off your arse.

There are alot of crabs in your diet, by the way. That's not to say it's a terrible diet, in fact it's probably quite standard for alot of people but it's just very carb (alot of sugar!) heavy and therefore probably not what you really need to be eating. Especially crisps and chocolate, and high sugar breakfast cereal. And what are mini twisters? Ice cream?

ETA - Carbs, not crabs. But that was an amusing mistake so I thought I'd leave it in biggrin

If you don't want it, you'll never get it.

This is what I have eaten today as a comparison.

Breakfast
Porridge with water and raisins (you could add some peanut butter)

Snack
Almonds/dried fruit and seeds
Protein shake with skimmed milk

Lunch
Jacket potato
Cottage Cheese
Tuna

Snack
Nectarine
Banana
Protein shake

Dinner - I will have chicken with quinoa and veggies

Snack before bed

Low Fat yoghurt with some protein powder and blueberries and muesli.

I struggled to eat things like porridge and water as my taste buds had been ruining by sweets/sweetner/sugar etc but now i cut them out i can eat anything and i mean anything.

Do not drink your calories sweetners are worse (bro science) than sugar imo. Drink water (I know i know its boring)

Cut the sugar puffs out and add oatbiscuits or weetabix or muesli

Spaghetti swap for wholemeal rather than the white stuff. Use lean mince and make your own sauce.

Crisps although my favourite food are so bad for the belly fat. I munch on mixed seeds (which are full of good fats and protein). You can get chilli or flavoured ones as well.

Swap snacks for complex carbs like oat cakes with yoghurt/cottage cheese on

I know thats a lot to change but maybe do one thing at a time. It can be hard to source good foods but holland and barret, tesco and aldi all have things in like this.

Oh if u drink loads of tea/coffee stop putting sugar/sweetners in and use semi skimmed or soya milk (good if u like it sweet).

If you want to lose it though you need to get motivated this is the hardest part.

www.scoobysworkshop.com is a great place to start with good home workouts etc and information.

I've no time for exercise really.

I used to be on site everyday and that kept me active but now I'm in a drawing office the only exercise I get is on the bike (motorbike) and when I get my hole.

You have to make time to exercise if you want to use your middle!

They're not. But when you start to factor in the chocolate and the ice cream as well, if you're not moving about much during the day...

The three mini twisters alone is almost 45% of your recommended daily sugar intake.

Ace answer! Just do more of what you like- more biking and more hole.

I've always wondered how many calories you burn off whilst on a motorbike.

3 hours on a sports bike and you bloody know about it.

not saying it's like running a marathon but must burn a few calories.

Chocolate, crisps and ice cream are full of fat. Mince is quite fatty, as are pizzas.

Also it's sugar intake rather than fat that makes people get fat (I know, a little counter intuitive). People have been mislead into thinking if they eat a low fat diet they won't get fat, which is not true - it's more about calories consumed (and blood sugar levels to an extent). So a lot of people eat a low fat but high sugar, high calorie diet and get fat as a result.

Main things I found help - don't snack on "snack foods", eat fruit or chew a raw carrot or such. Nuts are also a good option.
Don't eat chocolate or ice cream or desert every day. Once a week is a sensible maximum, the less the better really.
Eat more protein if you can, it makes you feel full for longer so you eat less food.

Around 180-200 calories per hour apparently (depends on your weight). So you'll burn off a mars bar in about an hour and a half of biking.
