Alright chaps,

Can someone recommend a good weights bench. After something quality, no flimsy stuff.

Cheers

Some of the Marcy stuff looks pretty good quality without being 'gym standard' prices.
I don't know of a specific bench but whenever I've looked before their stuff always appeared to be pretty substantial looking without costing an arm and a leg.

Cheers, just for reference, what would be considered 'gym standard'?

I've got this one -

http://www.fitness-superstore.co.uk/utility_benche...

Have had it for 18 months using it on average 3 times a week and it's still as sturdy as when I got it.

That looks great quality. But I really want a barbell support built in.

Ive looked at some of the TechnoGym stuff but thats getting on for a grand, im looking to spend around £500-600 for adjustable bench and weights.

If I'm honest I have no idea but when I've browsed in the past there definitely seems to be a huge leap in price between items that - to my eye - look very similar!

You seem to get the likes of York who make 'some gym' stuff that is pretty cheap, then the Marcy type stuff that looks more substantial but is usually double the price (but still pretty reasonalble, then you get your Technogym, Hammer Strength etc stuff that is three times the price without looking too different.
