Hello All,

I have a question around my current exercise programme. Yes i am exercising but is what i am doing worthwhile...

So in a 7 day week i aim to get to the gym around 4 - 5 times. i am only 5"6 and weighing approx 10st 11 so i would like to think i am not of a big build. due to my size my weight training is minimal (possible one session out of the 5). The rest is made up of cardio which is..

One Session:
20k cycle (taking approx 37 minutes)
2k walk (speed 7.5 incline 15%)

Or:
10k cycle (taking approx 17 minutes)
3k run (speed 10 incline 1% for 2.5k and then speed at 15k for last 500)

Or:
Rowing intervals of 500m with 1 minute rest approx 4 - 5k in total rowed
2k walk (speed 7.5 incline 15%)

The weight session is not free weights but the weight machines, usually chest related and arms.

my gain is to have an athletic physique. I will never be totally stick thin, thats not my build, but i would like to look healthy. So my question is while i am doing (what i think) is a lot of exercise is it the correct sort of exercise to be doing? Or does anyone have any circuit / alternative methods that i could try using the running machine, bike, rowing machine.

i am maintaining a healthy diet and i try to ensure that i eat three meals a day and do not snack in-between. Breakfast would be a bowl of alpen or special k, lunch a sandwich, fruit and some crisps (tesco meal deal for example) and then dinner could be the usual from chicken to pasta.

Thanks in advance...

Dan
