It's not just the fact that he ate a part of another human, it's that he ate that part.
I mean, if it was a nice bit off the thigh for example, bit of rosemary, salt and pepper, very nice, I could stomach that.
But placenta? This is something that has been ejected from the body and is effectively a waste product.

I don't see a problem with this. At least he knows where the meat has been and how it has been looked after. He's probably safer eating that than some s t from a takeaway.

'No thanks 'Genuine fresh monthly Black Pudding?' 'errrrrrrr no....just the salad please' They will join a cult soon, just let them. Ah-ha. A possible alternative explanation to having "c t chops" shouted at me at a recent bbq I put on then?

i'm amazed by the extreme reactions on this thread... fair enough... it might not be for you... but why the foul-mouthed, angry, incensed ranty attempts at ostracism?

While we're at it, I'm reminded of that old joke:
Q. What's the difference between a monkeys afterbirth & a bucket of sand? A. You can't gargle a bucket of sand.
Right, what's for breakfast..

I've eaten balut, it's OK but not so appetising really. I was given it by a Cambodian girl I went on a date with and she just told me it was 'egg' and it was dark so I couldn't really see it. I thought this can't be egg when I tasted meat though, good thing I'm not a vegetarian.
As for the placenta, I'm not sure what I think of it. I mean, I'm open minded but it looks absolutely disgusting. I'd probably try it if someone made it up for me, and it was my wife/child for example. But if it was a friends placenta, I don't think I'd want to try it. Likewise I don't think I have the stomach to cook it myself, especially if it comes out of a biowaste bag.
I have no idea how those vegetarians are justifying it. Human placenta would probably be bottom of my list if I was vegetarian.

I personally would not eat placenta, but I can't get angry or disgusted by someone that does. It's not doing anyone any harm, so live and let live I say.
And as stated, female mammals are meant to eat the placenta, raw. After months of gestation and not being able to hunt as well and get enough food, it's full of goodness. As a kid I recall my cat eating the placenta after each litter.
And as someone said, at least you know what it is and where it's come from, which puts it above doner kebab for a kick off.

Because it's the Pistonheads way. People here will either want to w k over something or kill it with fire. There is no middle ground on PH, or most of the internet, for that matter.
