i had a tattoo done about 12 weeks ago on my right calf and from time to time it gets really itchy but it always seems to be the same bit.
also the entire tattoo seems sensitive to warm water when in the shower etc

any ideas ?

I have a 3/4 sleeve and few other tattoo's on me. Some of them where a little itchy a week or so after being done, but not 12 weeks. By that point they would have properly healed and skin back as normal.

You tried any creams at all like E45? Do you have any tattoo's that are not itchy?

i was using bepanthan on it when it was fresh and it healed very well no scabbing. i dont have any others YET to compare it to. 7 hours one sitting made me want to wait a bit should be getting the rest of the lower leg done, should be getting it done in about a month though

I can't figure out whether your username is highly appropriate or not hehe

Hope it heals well though!

I have one or two tattoos myself and have never had one itch that long afterwards.

Maybe you some sort of scabies or parasite thing going on?

Did anyone else read the title of this thread and think the OP was a fan of The Simpsons. I thought you were going to ask if you should get one done of Scratchy also?

have you gone back to the artist, see if they can be of any help?
you could be allergic to the ink!

I got one done last week, its a bit itchy every now and then but its only been a week.

hope you get yours sorted!

Sounds like you might be allergic to the ink, coloured inks, especially red, cause allergic reactions in some people. I've never had any trouble with any of mine.

Have you had it in the sun at all?

I have some all black tattoos and no issues but my coloured sleeve is hyper sensitive to sunshine I get basically a heat rash if I have it in the sun too long

I've never had anything like that with my tattoos, I can only suggest you see a proper trained medical professional. Twelve weeks is way outside when I'd expect any itching to stop.

You need to go and see your GP.

They're usually pretty good on dermatology type stuff like your problem - worth making sure that nothing nasty is going on.

Should keep it out of all sunshine for three months at least.

I have troubles with my red colour swelling up a bit if it gets aggravated or scraped, or irritant on it.
