I have had kidney stones and indeed thanks to the wonder of my body make and pass them fairly often. I am still, obviously, to experience a truly painful one. Sure they smart a bit and can cause the odd flash of OMFG but either I have just been lucky until now or there are a lot of big girls blouses out there.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ureteric_stent - now this is quite a special thing which I have had 3 times now together with a 4th similar visit from a camera. You can have a choice when they are removed of general or local and I have to say that the 3 seconds of levitation inducing pain of removal under local is far better than the 24 hours of feeling st a general leaves you with. That said whichever option you go for there is nothing that truly prepares you for pissing blood and pain for 2-3 days after insertion/removal. Once you have the stent in as well you will feel the urge to pee about 20 times a day, via a tube that is already feeling raw. This is not fun.

Root canals are special but not a patch.

Dislocated knee is close but somehow an easier pain to deal with.

Gout. Now I haven’t had that yet but Dad could tell where everyone was in the house from his bed using only his gouty big toe as a tracking device on a good day.

Papercut to the bellend. Makes rabbits whince so hard they break their own backs, it was sientifically proven.

Kidney stones.

I have never felt anything like it.

Having a stent shoved down the end of your cock as part of the treatment wasn't much fun either.
Did they give you general anaesthetic for that?
Putting it in they did.

Taking it out they didn't, they whipped it out with the camera they had inside me at the same time.

Oh yes.

First couple of dressing changes are bad but after that you get used to it. Saying that mine was only about an inch across and an inch deep. Some I've seen look frightening!

A bad pain I had was having root canal pain being 1000m up. Then taking a helicopter to visit the dentist. Ouch indeed!
Shouldn't you have seen the dentist first?

Or did the helicopter pilot do the root canal work?

I wonder if the dentist can fly helicopters?
I was 1000m above sea level but feet on the ground. Only way to get to a dentist was via helicopter

SPD when I was pregnant. On several occasions the pain was so awful I passed out when I tried to move. The trouble was when you have weeks and weeks of pain you stop sleeping and the pain seems even worse.

Cluster headache. They are nicknamed 'Suicide headaches', no prizes for guessing why. It ain't nothing like a migraine. It's been a long time since I've had one, thank god. Want to get an idea of how painful it is, check it out

Perosnally I couldn't move when I had an attack, any attempt to go anywhere resulted in vomitting. Spent most of the time screaming.
I too suffer wih Cluster Headache, had them since i was 16. I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy.

Having watched that video you have my sympathy. I'm not sure I could cope with that, especially if it was several times a day. I can understand why they have the nickname they do, I think I'd be considering it.

Broken bones? Gout? a bit of toothache? Pah!

Have none of you tried eating a Toblerone straight from the fridge?

Just wondering your thoughts on the worst pain in the world.

Personally I would say tooth ache or earache.
An infected root had me actually smashing my head against the wall once banghead - anything to get rid of the pain in my face.

sinus pain is without doubt the worst pain immaginable. Never felt anything like it.
Again excrutiating - the moment my infected sinus 'burst' was one of the most joyful moments of my life

Sciatica or getting a chest drain in for a collapsed lung. Both very sore.
Just under 2 weeks ago I fell off my bike trying something utterly stupid and ended up with 3 smashed ribs and a punctured/collapsed lung so had to have the whole 'hosepipe through the ribs' treatment and was in hospital for 4 days..

Sneezing - and you know it's going to be bad before it happens - with two broken ribs.
Where I contracted a cold. I nearly piss myself everytime I have to cough or sneeze.

Pretty sure medically it is gall bladder pain, closely followed by a 'dry socket ' following tooth extraction.
Neither are terribly receptive to pain management. I had a dry socket and it sucked.

I once got eaten by a lion, that stung a bit.
That happened to me once, not as bad as getting sucked through a straw by an ant and then getting squashed by a Dr Martin boot although it clear up my sinus problem.
