Did that exact plan in preparation for London triathlon this weekend (my first triathlon). Got slightly derailed towards the end as I found the times to be pretty inappropriately long. I'm extremely dedicated, and found it hard to keep up with them. I even shortened the latter months slightly as I was training massively over distance, and over training in general.
I finished in 2hr31 though so it was worth it. I'd also recommend a complete break around a month before the end of the program too. This helped me massively, I felt so strong coming back from a weeks rest, even if it was difficult to do nothing for a week.
EDIT: In hindsight I'd say you'd probably be better working your time on a long swim, a long bike, and a long run once a week, then the rest of the time practicing brick sessions, and working on technique/speed skills. I'm training for IMUK next year, and that's what I've decided to change to.

I absolutely loved it, wasn't really sure what to expect but enjoyed it massively. I was in the 8am wave so was really lucky to miss the rain, and the massive crowds on the bike and run course it seems. Would like to do it again, but I've entered IMUK next year so think I may not!
Swim: 00:26:46
T1:0:06:47
Bike: 01:02:32
T2: 00:02:45
Run: 00:53:09
02:31:57
A little disapointed to not make sub 2.30, T1 needs work and the run also lets me down a little. Really pleased with the bike, as I absolutely flying and felt really good, only got overtaken once on the bike, by a chap in full aero gear on a cervelo . Saw quite a few people had crashed out, and even one guy getting oxygen and attention from an ambulance, as well as a few people walking back with punctures. Heard two people collide about 50 metres behind me too. Can imagine it was downright treacherous later in the day with more people in the pouring rain. Saying that though I enjoyed the bike the most, my first proper ride on closed roads. The run was a bit of a joke, running on that white matting was horrible, as was having to do four laps of what was essentially a twisting route through a car park but oh well.
Somebody took my wetsuit from transition too which was annoying. Really whetted my appetite for triathlon though, maybe I'll do somewhere a little smaller and more local next time though.
