What Are Your Gym/Fitness/Routine Moans?
Discussion
prat in the gym today. At my gym there's 6 power rack areas that have deadlift platforms all against 1 wall. I go in and at lunch its unusualy busy. all 6 are taken up so I sit around and wait 5min for one person to finish. I say 6 when in actual fact 1 of them has a persons duffel bag and other crap on one of them but with the person nowhere in sight. funny enough I end up getting the rack area next to it, after 10 minutes on it the owner of the bag comes to it to rummage around and go back to the cable machines that's literally at the other end of the gym, !. the thing was unoccupied for a good 20min before that guy came back to get his stuff and leave.
it was made more annoying by the fact that the barbel had 4 pairs of 10kg weights and 1 pair of 20kg weights all stacked onto it. Didn't deter me though as I remembered this thread and nicked them for my squats.

I would've had to say something to him, that's not on.ORD said:
Surely you just move the stuff? I move anything that is in the way and not being used.
I'll loiter next to the aforementioned belongings while looking around and counting to ten, if no one turns up I just move it.I'm not about to stand like a lemon waiting for a duffel bag to finish its use of the squat rack.
I'm sure this is on here somewhere already: Dropping weights on the floor. My gym is upstairs with a warehouse below too, I wonder what they think about it all. If it is too heavy then don't pick it up. Seems to mostly be laziness. 12 reps, lifted to exhaustion, so they drop the weights. Arses. Well I bet your Mrs has to pick up your dropping underpants too... some people...

Thing is, not all weight-dropping is equal. It's easy to recognise those being lazy & arrogant, versus those who are training balls to the wall, and end up dropping the weights.
Then you've got a lot of the Olympic lifts which actually require the weight to be dropped as part of the technique.
Pair of plums doing some pad sparring this evening.
Nothing wrong with that except one of the pair, when it came to his turn to wear the gloves, would shout "WAH" at the top of his voice every time he threw a punch.
It was ridiculous. This isn't even a boxing gym, it's a Fitness First.
fking jeb-end.

I know about certain lifts involving dropping the bar, this is fine.
Playing cards. Effing. Playing cards.
Crossfit bunch (again) took things up a level this morning by basing there workout (im assuming) on a deck of cards laid out RIGHT IN FRONT of the bloody weights tree. Leaning over to get a 25kg plate is an easy way to pull your back (not a problem for me however, being powerfully built and all that).
At one point I counted no less than 8 pieces of gym equipment being 'used' as part of their little routine. Not to mention the abhorrent amount of space they take up doing things that look like a burpee but arn't quite a burpee.

Why are they even in your normal gym if they're crossfitters? Are they lost? So today I actually walked into someone who was standing about 3mm from the DB rack doing curls, its a large gym, the weight benches move (easily) I just don't get it! I was returning my weights to the rack.
I imagine he was annoyed but tbh its driving me mad a lot seem to do it at this gym and I don't get why? He also placed the weights on the floor in between sets not like he was running the rack or anything!!
