wtf was the guy even thinking? I don't understand why you wouldn't even try to put the grips on the ends to stop them coming off. Sometimes I will put them on even if it's only 1 plate on each side when I'm repping to failure.
Just getting it up off the rack needs some strength at that weight but there is no way that's going down and back up again. And not having the collars on was probably intentional so he didn't just kill himself.

What a nobhead.
I don't think he ever intended to squat it.

There isn't enough room on the end of the bar for grips or collars. A bro's gotta do what a bro's gotta do, and if that includes filling the bar and not leaving enough room for collars then all the better... . Until it goes wrong.

I've seen that happen in the gym. A skinny lad benching with loads of 1.25 and 2.5kg plates each end of the bar but no collars.

He struggled with the last rep, one arm failed and lots of little weights trickled off one end of the bar.... which then flipped viciously up at the now light end until all the little weights trickled off the other end. Balance restored, he was left laying there with only the bar.
Job jobbed.

where is the trainer? how can they think that is good form? why is the bar so thick? why are the plates so rubbery? I bet you these people barely broke a sweat/elevated their HR.

Bar's an axle. Each plate weighs 25kg.

So what if they didn't break a sweat. That's how strong they are.

DYEL, bro?

Only just found this thread so no doubt this has been mentioned before.

Put. The. fking. Weights. Back. When. You. Finish.

There are racks, with sodding NUMBERS on them for the dumbbells to go in ORDER. Not just where ever you fancy leaving them you illiterate, selfish twerp.

I don't enjoy spending 2 minutes of my workout just looking for the sodding equipment.

And it's always the huge weights (28kg and up) which get left scattered around the room. If you've strong enough to lift them for a workout, you're strong enough to put them back.

When I went in this morning the only half rack available had 100kg of weights on a bar on the floor and another 100kg on a Hex barbell, did piss me off especially as they were all full of 25kg weights and i wanted to do squats.

I witnessed old man changing room syndrome the other day. Two guys. One sitting down, the other standing, one foot on the bench in front of his friend chatting away about CGT while drying himself.

Fortunately I haven't had to witness elderly towel-flossing syndrome recently. Long may that continue.

If nobody else is doing it in your gym, it can only mean one thing...
