I have. On too many occasions. You always have to get uncomfortably close to one of them to access your locker too frown

I refrain from the changing rooms when the retired old buggars are in there. I once stood on some guys balls. It wasn't pretty.

Yeah I think u know what you mean but they are usually just needing to get a very heavy object from a to b. How they do it is secondary.

This is supposed to be a demonstration of a fairly simple oly lift, it does take proper coaching and practice though. These clowns are encouraging each other to do something that is just wrong in both form and function. Idiots.

Hang on..... We've been had by an April fools prank I reckon..

How the hell? My shoe has never been anywhere close to someone's balls inside a changing room! #areyouwearingabox

You live and learn.

Somebody already mentioned it but this is a legit strongman lift apparently.

Still looks a horrible way to get th bar up.

Bellies not big enough from 10k cals a day/hgh to rest it on?

Its all relative though isnt it? The x-fit girls arent going to be doing the heavy weights of the strongmen but it will be hard enough for them as itll be a weight they struggle with.

True, but there is literally no benefit to doing this whatsoever. Unless you are a competitive strongman/woman then I can't think of a single instance where getting a bar above your head in this fashion would ever be a good idea. It just looks st too, unless you're hoofing 200kg+ above your noggin for a bit of gym-cred - even that is showboating for people that don't give a stuff.

I posted this up in my gyms facebook group and someone suggested that gym probably had a strongman seminar session so they were just going through what they had been taught. They have been fleeced basically.

It's a bit like going on a rally driving course, whilst never ever having any experience of, or any intention in the future of rally driving, then trying out what you learnt on the road. You'll just hurt yourself and look like an idiot.

The crossfit people will be lifting far more reps than the stronglift people so obviously the weight will be less.

At the crossfit comps st lifts wouldn't be counted so there is no point lifting a heavy weight badly , you'd do better in the comp lifting a lighter weight properly for more reps.

but there's adding like 5kg then 7 then 10 compared to just deciding your going to double it overnight.

Last night.

People on phones in the gym.

People training wearing baseball caps backwards.

tts leaving 100k+ on an olympic bar.

tts leaving manky blue paper towel everywhere.

People spending more time talking / flirting than actually working out.

Why is it that the run up to summer brings all the tts to the gym?!

Greetings, Ynox. First post in this thread. Is it because it's summer? wink

Please don't say it's a PureGym as mine should be opening this weekend!

Apart from the blue paper it probably is - they don't supply paper roll at mine as it's a "no frills gym". Which would be alright apart from the sweaty bds who don't wipe up after showing off to the rest of the gym with their supreme strength (so much so they fail and can't carry the weights back to the rack....)

Think you'll find that I posted back in January smile

Not part of the problem though - I actually tidy up after myself. Usually the gym I go to is pretty well run too. It just seemed like a lot of sts in there on Tuesday night.

Edit - not a Pure Gym either. A private non chain place - the vast majority of members do keep the place pretty tidy. Maybe they've given away a load of 3 day trials or something!

Continental cleans are a legit lift. THe method is used on thick bars, or when the weight can't be cleaned by a pronated grip.

They don't look at all clean! The clean is called that because it looks and feels clean.
