They don't look at all clean! The clean is called that because it looks and feels clean.

My moan; personal trainers who think they have the divine right to use any equipment, at any time
I went to use the Smith machine the other day. Left my water bottle there while I went to get a bench, by the time I got back (30 seconds)
one of the personal trainers had jumped in rage
The pupil was doing hanging leg raises rolleyes

People who think a waterbottle left by a weights machine indicates a reservation of some kind.

At mine, people leave keys/wallets/mobiles on benches they have no intention of using and stand 5m away from it all. Same with people hanging clothes on bars in the squat rack/chest press/anywhere theres a bar at convenient height

Not a reservation, just an indication that I was about to use the equipment (after waiting my turn)

For sure. Pays to have a plan B though if the 'bagging the machine with water bottle' technique doesn't work!

Am I allowed to complain about how expensive they are given that I don't want to use their facilities everyday because most gyms don't provide everything I want so I have to go elsewhere?

Well, I don't need classes, pool or other spa facilities. Nor cardio machines. Just weights and tennis courts. Every place I've checked out requires you to pay a single fee that covers everything. I did try a 14 day DLL membership and as impressive as the facilities are, it would be cheaper for me to join a tennis club and a cheap gym... but I would prefer an all-in-one.
